You can still find the USA made Craftsman 150 piece sets on eBay for $55-70 That's what I picked up to start, and then add pieces as I go to upgrade

I just put in a set of the NewAge Pro cabinets and love them. I only compared them to Craftsman and Gladiator stuff and it was a no brainer.

Is there any way to search their site for stuff that's on sale? I was thinking about picking up one of the Armstrong flex ratchets, and maybe a set of Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches...

I'm a total newb as well...but for the average homeowner, don't the 6 point sockets and 12 point wrenches seem to be the most recommended?

$/# of ratchets, wrenches and sockets might be a better indicator of value the 150 piece Craftsman set I picked up on eBay had 92 sockets, 8 wrenches and 2 (albeit crappy) ratchets for $60. Not bad for a starter set.
