    Toolbox Decal Addiction

I have two Crafstman stacks. One is all stickered up but I've kept the other blank. Until this weekend when I mounted a 1960 F100 hood spear on one of the drawers.

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Four of them will hold an early RX7 or fiberglass dune buggy with some distortion. And 1/4 the price of the proper steel car dollies.

My Corvette "Race Shop" - Making the most of a 20x20 garage

Your racecar build/resto skill is quite impressive. And in 400 sqft too! Oh how I miss my 02Z reading that build thread... FYI, most of the pictures from about page 30 onward aren't showing up. Too bad about TTA rule changes.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Can you determine from your ride height data how much downforce you're getting currently? Spring rate vs height delta or something like that? I would think the lateral loading on the uprights is similar, but I long ago forgot anything I may have picked up in statics and dynamics class....

Your thoughts on Dist. points or not

In my experience breaker points are never more than a wet-fart from being broke. Pertronix Ignitor FTW.

1/2 steel to 1/2 inch steel welding quest

He did the search for you and provided the links to a very a useful welding info source. How much more spoon-feeding do you need? If there was no gap wouldn't the plates be touching? I know you were just testing, so this is not intended to be spiteful, but a straight **** weld is something...

Insane projects that take WAY to long

My wife and I took a leisurely three years to complete our "library". Floor to ceiling built-ins in a 15x10x9 room. The garage and this room were a disaster pretty much the whole time. I really like it now, but that was an awful project to leave looming overhead for so long.

    MIG Welding Critique

I suspect you know the answer is "nothing", but I'll add to the conversation for the folks that may not know about it. GMAW-P (pulsed mig) involves a different type of power source that pulsates the current, changing the behavior of the weld and its penetration. What 383 240Z is talking about is...

Disable inline images for quoted blocks of text

Jawn, I fully agree. If the masses can bother to learn so much about 18,000 kinds of vises I think a little comprehension on reposting pictures isn't too much to expect. If there is a pertinent question about ONE of the images, a smaller repost MAY be useful. Make big THESE ARE THE RULES...

Why not have a garage cabinet or storage section?

So after we get a toolbox forum and a cabinet/storage forum and a vise forum and a compressor forum, what's going on in the general garage discussion?

good welds - is grinding usually avoidable?

A pretty weld cap does not indicate a sound weld. You can lay the most beautiful stack of dimes for the internet to covet and still not get any penetration into the base metal.

    Show us your wood projects

To make use of an otherwise silly 'formal living room' behind french doors, we decided to make it a library. Ten foot ceiling, long wall is 15', short is 10'. Cabinets are 3/4" birch ply set on a 2x4 base with 2"x 3/4" red oak facing. The boxes in the lower opening keep a variety of riff raff...

    Computer audio into stereo

I use the fiber optic output on the sound card into my receiver and the video goes through an HDMI. Works like a champ once it decides to do what you tell it. The receiver itself is another matter though.
