Issues w/ fluorenscent lights. Dim T12's

Ya after going through some stuff afterwards I didn't realize T8's have the same socket as the T12's. Had I known that I would have checked out swapping to T8's but I didn't really know when I was buying the ballasts... live and learn. I'll verify the wiring again... but I'm thinking more and...

Issues w/ fluorenscent lights. Dim T12's

I have four 4-bulb recessed lighting in our finished basement. These use the 48" T12 bulbs. Two ballasts each. Over the past year sometimes I will get one or two fail to turn on, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. Typically have that "hum" usual with older ballasts. These have original...

    Mold on studs

AC should be coming next year. I have to cut into the walls for a window so it a bit of labor to get a decent AC unit in there... however I will be doing that eventually. Not sure it will help too much because I only work in there on weekends typically and would not leave it on for most of the...

    Mold on studs

Ya I'm going to keep them on constantly for the time being, especially until I can get it all cleaned up. Picked up a big dehumidifier today and will keep that running too. I don't have any eaves and the ceiling is buttoned up w/ insulation. The mold I'm seeing is in no spots higher than a few...

    Mold on studs

So spray bottle, lightly spray, and then just wipe off? Judging by the consistency of it I would bet it should come off pretty easily. I'm picking up a dehumidifier today and will also keep the overhead ceiling fans on.

    Mold on studs

That's the plan but it may not happen until next year. Done a lot of work on the garage in the past year and had to catch up on the projects "in" the garage if ya know what I mean

    Mold on studs

40'x20' detached garage. Insulated walls (R13) and insulated ceiling (R30), Racedeck on the floors. We've been getting a ton of rain, pretty much every day for over a week. On one side of my garage (on of the 40' walls) there is what appears to be mold forming on the woods studs, from the...

Problem with Racedeck moving around. Help>>

I take it there is nothing around the perimeter like shelves or cabinets that can weight it down to keep it from moving. As in, is it just the flooring with nothing else on top of it over than the car?

    Race Deck and Static Electricity

I have had moments where I've built static after installing Racedeck that I had not noticed before. I only noticed it this winter... I haven't really had any static issues for the past couple months once it warmed up... not sure if its related. Or if using a layer of landscape felt under my RD...

I this a reason for a customer to be mad?

Agree, do not change any settings (clock, radio, etc) unless it was part of the work. Changing the seat position is totally understandable, although bonus points if they change it back close to where it was before.

    RaceDeck: Eliminating the "Clacking Sound"

I did a layer of synthetic landscape felt when I did mine. It doesn't really add too much cost and was easy to put down before laying the tiles. I think it was about $80 to do 900+ sq ft of the landscape felt.

Low Profile Floor Jack with Rapid Pump®, 2.5 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Item # 68049 Link PASS I've been using cheap basic jacks for as long as I can remember. Got this and for $70 (w/ coupon) was really impressed. For once I don't have to use anything under the jack on my Racedeck because the...

Re: what did you do in your garage today? This is what I've been doing over my Christmas/New Years time off Installed a lightweight front bumper support... Before: After: Pulled the stock rear bumper support. Also pulled the stock gas tank to prep for the new 8-gal fuel cell: Before...

Pay attention if you buy Craftsman these days

I recently had a Craftsman USA extension get damaged so I returned it, the store only had a China equivalent (same PN, 44264). It was ok but the "Craftsman" stamping was clearly not straight. Function wise it was ok. However I was a little displeased my USA made tool was not being replaced with...
