Craftsman socket =V=, -V-, and VV question

Welcome aboard and with a neatly done presentation. I don’t collect any Cman stuff but I would expect to see rows for swivel sockets before you add metrics. YMMV

    The Sidchrome thread

Those cadmium plated examples are not often found, the inset name went for a long time through the 1950’s and 1960’s but they were not the earliest profiles used. There was a Worldwide nickel shortage around the Korean War time and I suspect that spanner is from that era.

Delco Light Connecting Rod Cylinder Head Screw Wrench 90559

The auction list from RTM shows a wide variety of Delco-Light tools. Reviewing this and the Catalog images has me change the application to the smaller range of battery chargers which are usually referred to as Little Joes which do use screws to secure the cylinder head. P

    Britool (Made in England) thread

Looking at 1968 Cat the largest 2JM spanner was 3032 so list is more recent. All the small 2JM sizes are in the 1975 Cat under James Neill control, but not the three largest as 3032 was still the largest. Have to go to this Cat, perhaps 1989 to find the QR Ratchet and more big 2JM spanners.

How to clean up mangled threads on threaded rod?

Would either of these two options work? 1. Reverse the rod to work from a better end. or 2. Shorten the rod at the damaged section. YMMV

    X/32 " (i.e. 19/32 ", 21/32 ") socket set recommendations

Hinsdale Catalog 101 has been found online. Pages 11 and 31 answer most questions, they are definitely Americanised Whitworth Dimensions. Updating my wrench set status I see no HW6 but I’ll continue the search for HW1 And here are images of Socket SR24W alongside a BSF nut and bolt.

    X/32 " (i.e. 19/32 ", 21/32 ") socket set recommendations

I test fitted all 8 box ends to Whitworth nuts and bolts today and all are good fits. I will keep a watch out for HW1 and HW6 to complete this set. Finding the socket set will I suspect be a harder task but who knows?

    X/32 " (i.e. 19/32 ", 21/32 ") socket set recommendations

It is interesting to look at a Stahlwille chart showing min and max tolerances for each size socket or wrench opening. 45/64 will be a tight fit for 3/8 WW so I’ll do a check fit tomorrow. 23/32 would be much closer to that mark. My Hinsdale collection seeks HW1 and HW6 to complete, looks...

    X/32 " (i.e. 19/32 ", 21/32 ") socket set recommendations

No image tonite but this morning I scored a Hinsdale SR24W socket, 1/2 drive 12 point 45/64 I will research if in fact this is a Whitworth dimension Americanised.

Any suggestions for me to attempt a DIY repair to this NS-18-A Power Bar? What drill size to attack the swivel pin? TIA

    X/32 " (i.e. 19/32 ", 21/32 ") socket set recommendations

Here’s my rail of /32” fractional sockets, have never used one from it but would have used examples from 1/4 drive sets. 31/32 being Chrome Nickel 29/32 is Snap-on from 1937 25/32 is #225 Chrome Nickel from Walden Worcester, 6 point. 25/32 is Stahlwille 21/32 is Stahlwille 19/32 is...
