Not to hijack merk's thread here, but I checked my 13 and 16 long KS wrenches at work today and they both have USA on the back. I think your wrench was probably just mis-stamped. I can't see them making those wrenches in more than one factory.:confused:

Yeah. I bet it would be. I am not a field tech, still work in the shop being that I am still in training. I still think it would be great though for the times I have to work out in the yard or up on a large machine. Nothing worse than having to climb up and down a large wheel loader or dump...

Just checked a XL 5/8" KS I have out in the garage. It is newer, not sure how new since I got it on ebay, but it says USA on the back right by the open end. So my guess is, either your wrench just wasn't stamped properly, or as you said, they have more than one factory making wrenches. In which...

Now you have got me curious, I will have to check mine tomorrow when I get to work. Pretty sure they have USA on the back, I'll repost if otherwise.

I just bought 13mm and 16mm MAC long KS wrenches this past June. They have USA right on 'em.

Wrenches, sockets, ratchets USA. Screwdrivers are of the "assembled in USA of global components" I believe. Pliers are either Channellock rebadges, Knipex rebadges, or imports. And they now have the new Edge wrenches and sockets which are imports. I guess those could be the "economy line", but...

Agreed, unfortunately for me though, I still have yet to have a really good MAC dealer. Still love the few items I have from them though.

Sounds to me like the guy is trying to warranty your MAC USA socket with one of the crappy new MAC edge sockets. AFAIK, the regular MAC sockets in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive are still made here.

The new SO 1/4" driver with the instinct handle doesn't have the female drive end in the handle. I was disappointed when I got my set through school which came with the new one, so I traded for a NOS driver that did have the female end from my SO dealer.

That is a nice set. I'd like that set for home. Probably have to try and get one from school for 50% off before I graduate in May.

Funny, I was going to clarify too, knowing your feelings of mac computers, but I figured most would know what I was talking about.

No, but they were the only 1/4" drive longs I have seen so far. I am still looking though.

I love flipping through these. They have good reviews and good tests to check performance, fit and finish, etc. When it comes to woodworking, they know what's good. I have quite a few of their books as well, very informative.
