What is that in the lower compartment that seems to be protruding through the back?

There is a square cut out on the backside that has a mounting hole on each corner like a plate had been there.. Was this original or homeowner fudd?

Was the power outlet located on the back of the cabinet?

I always wondered how a detent ball could be fixed when the spring fails and the ball can no longer engage the sockets detent hole. When I pulled it out or the pile of sockets I couldnt identify what it was and I thought I had discovered a new tool.

I have a 1/2" drive plomb pebble breaker bar with the same problem and I was wondering how it could be fixed. Nice work

Even though I have encountered the problem mentioned earlier in this thread with two different 1/2" drive plomb ratchets that have had the selector lever fall off and leaving them in a state where im unable to re-peen them myself satisfactorily.... plomb ratchets are still my go to...
