Radiant in slab heat required components

A freezer is only around 0*, it usually gets much colder than that in MN in the winter. I live in northern MN and a minus 30* is not uncommon for at least a few days a year.

    Finding Underground Electric Help

When I lived in the cities, I hit the gas line, it was only about 6 inches down. Turned out when they ran the line they hit large root from an oak tree. Instead of going around it or cutting through it they just went over it. I did not have to pay for the repair, thankfully.

    Conventional heaters wont work,need alternatives.

1+ Yep, here they leave it up to the insurance companies as it should be. It is all about risk. I have a wood furnace, when I purchased the house the insurance agent came out to inspect it, and took pictures. I had to put some tin up on the ceiling the previous owner had taken down for what...

    Conventional heaters wont work,need alternatives.

Illegal? Not in MN, at least not in my area; that being said some insurance companies may choose not to cover you. But that is another issue. Here is a good online fuel comparison chart that allows you to factor in fuel cost and efficiency rates of the appliance...

not **** or toys, as my dad finally convinced my wife, they are "labor saving devices". My wife now refers to all my tools as labor saving devices. I can honestly say that what I have spent on tools I have easily saved much more. Maybe not all tools purchased paid for themselfs, but the ones...

Water Heater Lesson last night/early morning

Not sure what good a pan would do with a burst water heater, it would overflow in no time. That is if it is even draining into the pan. The only benefit I can see for having a pan under the heater is if the drain valve or pressure relief valves leaks a little. But then again it will only buy...

Water Heater Lesson last night/early morning

Yep, I did the same thing. I just took a hack saw and cut it off and put the plug back in. The water heater was only about six months old when the water started to smell. I got 22 years out of a water heater back when I was on city water. Never once replace the anode rod and rarely drained it...

Batteries and 1/4 hex impact drivers

I can't comment on the other but I really like my makita with the 18 volt Lithium battery. Before I purchased it I did do some research and at the time it was a top performer. Go to the store and pick a few up, see which feel "right" in your hand. As already stated weigh what you are going to...
