Thanks for the replies. I will verify with the inspector but he is busy and will take some time. On a slab so no basement route.

    Dryer Vent Lines

My home build design places the electric clothes dryer against an interior partition wall about 10-12 feet from the exterior wall. My electrician who is very capable and has been a tremendous help on almost everything did not mention any particular problem when we located and installed the...

    Radiant heating is cold temps

Two inches of foam insulation ? How does that meet code in an area where it can get -40. I thought R49 ceiling was the standard, and that's 7-inches minimum. Walls now R22 which is also more than 2 inches of foam. Also, why are you using water instead of coolant ? Good luck, it sounds like...

    Painting concrete

FJ is that a typo ? Satin <> Stain ? Exxcellent article BTW - thanks. I think I can do this myself. I was quoted $13/sf 4 years ago. Cough.

    Painting concrete

From reading this I gather that an assessment of the slab concrete may be made by observing the reaction of water and it's beading or absorption. My 3 yo indoor slab ***** up water droplets on contact. I am re-evaluating the contractor's advice to acid etch it. I dont think its necessary if I...

Heating 1400 sq ft uninsulated garage

5kWH heaters from Amazon. A pair will make it roasty within 30 minutes. 240 40 AMP circuits. I have a pair of these in a partially ( roof) insulated house build unoccupied at the moment. Temp was 10 deg last night. Propane for the radiant will wait until $$$$ this summer. $0.08/kWH costs...

Ryobi 18 Volt Rechargable Work Lights

I have had one of those lights for three years. It also has a socket for 120 VAC plug. My experience with Ryobi tools has been stellar, and also with their factory batteries. Highly suggest the 4aH batteries. Aftermarket batteries have all failed quickly.

    12V Battery Charger

From their (Noco) web page - " Charge dead batteries - Charges dead batteries as low as 1-volt. Or use the all-new Force Mode that allows you to take control and manually begin charging dead batteries down to zero volts " Thats not what I recall reading on there previously. Good info.

New concrete floor. Cure and Seal Problem

Just contractors doing what contractors do. Everything he did was a corner cut detrimental to contract agreement and to his benefit. No sympathy for the GC at all, none what so ever. This is why on State highway work, where public money is involved and there are mandatory cost audits, there...

New concrete floor. Cure and Seal Problem

I am not a concrete professional but sealing it before it has cured seems counter productive. The sealer should trap the efflorescence. Is this a common practice ?

They cannot charge a discharged battery. I never asked about a bank loan for a shop grade investment.

    12V Battery Charger

I found a manual charger. A simple solution to a very common problem is just beyond some people's grasp or understanding. If you want to make this a chat forum full of useless opinions and misinformation then you have succeeded. I was referred here a few years ago to avoid signal static and...

    12V Battery Charger

That is what a charger is supposed to do. The thread is about chargers, not tenders or ><&^%$. That Noco wont work on a battery below about 8 volts, essentially useless to charge a battery killed by a dome light, audio or similar. From what I can tell, the availability of manual chargers...

    12V Battery Charger

FWIW I found an manual or analog charger at NAPA. It's a Craftsman and it is not a benchtop. I check back in about it after it goes to Idaho to charge a battery that has been out in the cold since mid September. After the fire LOLZ Some Youtube reviews are of a different NAPA unit and are...

    12V Battery Charger

So its been 8 days since my last post. What I think I have found out is that almost all smart charger bench units will not charge a "dead battery" for various reasons. There is no way to tell by looking at an online product description. An enormous waste of time to search this out. I have...
