    Toilet facilities during build

Rent the Porta. Stash some xtra paper. Prepare to kill wasps. You are paying more than double what I paid in Idaho for two summers.

    %*#!ing Wasp

Yeah but . . . .. . They can set up and then defend in places where you have to fight. Cot legs, gun barrels, inside a jacket on a hook on the wall. I try and take the hornets outside to release them, the wasps with ther mud nests have to die. Those Asalt salt guns don't do jack.

Floor Heat- has anyone used the Menards setup?

Calling the heat source a boiler is misleading. My tankless unit per mfg of the tank and the radiant system is max at 120 F. Set up for glycol and water mix, closed system.

Anyone use propane for heat? what are your thoughts?

PG&E in the Valley is a high of $0.38/kWH. SMUD here in Rancho Cordova is $0.14. Truckee gets pillaged over energy costs and environmental regs. Keep Tahoe Blue.

    Tamper resistant outlets

Wylie that's why I called my noise a rant. It looks like I have about 40 NIB receptacles that I can return or try to sell. Irony is that these units are to prevent misuse by dummies and there I go. I have watched hours of YouTube on DIY new installs and not one of them mentions " Oh, by the...

    Tamper resistant outlets

Just my $0.02 rant. F the code language. It could easily simply say any new 123abc receptacle in any residence or garage requires a TR. PERIOD Exceptions are . . .. But no. Every single source regarding this refers to another part of the code. Fail. There, I feel much better. :):):)...

Propane System Install for New Residence

Looking for a YouTube video that doesn't bring the amateur weekend warrior ****. A comprehensive look at a new instal for a new residence. Code, Safety, tank, regulators, UG line, House wall penetration, house interior runs, appliance connection, line sizing. A lot to ask for I know, but my...

    Dr. Heater Infared DR966

Slight off topic beotch. My electric from Sacramento Metropolitan Utility District, SMUD is $0.11/kwh and Idaho power in 83468 is $0.08/kwh. Dont we love our PG&E ?

    Dr. Heater Infared DR966

The OP's unit is a plug in, the other linked are hard or direct wired. Pacific Gas and Electric if thats what he has is $0.38 - $0.42 kwh depending on variables. 6,000 watts at $0.38 kwh. (6000/1000) $0.38 = 6x0.38 = $2.28 hour. Is that correct ?

    Loft room wall height

Bill, the County inspector said sheet rock is not required on the ceiling or any wall for that matter. Yes, a simple board stained or painted to match will work. Have to wait and see. It brings up another issue with the electrical. Isn't power required on or at all walls ? State inspection...

    Loft room wall height

Knee wall. Thats it. Not planning on sheet rock on the ceiling. Havent got to the finish yet by a long shot. Plans are incomplete so thanks for bringing it up. Maybe an "ankle wall" simply sheet or trim or some of the plank I have an excess of. No more than 10-inches or so. Lot sure yet...

    Loft room wall height

Thanks Bill and Dune. That makes sense. For the floor space to " count" there has to be a minimum of 5 ft under the slope for it to be count. Awkward description, I know. My neighbor works for his brother, a builder, so they would be interested in what "counts" as that is what they would...

    Loft room wall height

A neighbor mentioned that the requirement for the wall height that forms an upstairs living area is 42 or 48 inches, I cant recall exactly. I am referring to a simple stud wall on the eave side of a rafter roof loft. The area under the diminishing angle formed by the ceiling and the exterior...
