    Joe Most laminates require some sort of underlayment , to control noise and allow movement . I used a premium padding. that added 3mm to the total thickness. The padding is just a luxury , common rosin paper will control noise and allow movement , and only add about 0.5mm.

    Found a close-out sale at Lumber Liquidators on Hickory laminate. 10 mm. thick , made in Austria , tough stuff almost, impossible to scratch. $1.10 sq.ft.

    I filled the joints after acid staining. I used 1/4" Screen moulding , in the joint ,to help get a straight tape line [ made it easy ] Polyurea afterward, sealed the edge of the Sika Flex

    Had to do mine differently, too cold to put anything on an outside wall. Used a 24" pocket door , found it to be adequate. Left the ceiling open, figured anything I might put up there,I didn't need. put in a 48" vanity to maximize "clean" storage .

    Here's my 30x ,with 9ft.doors . Restricted to 8 ft. walls on 10 in. stem. Attic and scissor truss combination, gives a loft and a center ceiling hight of 17 ft. [13ft. on the short side over the lift ]

    You can stain anytime after 30 days , but I'd advise waiting as long as possible to insure a throughly dry an temperature stable slab. Ideal conditions for the Polyurea are , 3 days of low humidity with 0% chance of rain

    A dye or acid stain ,topped with a single coat of SPGX Polyurea will give you a unique floor that will stand up to almost anything. Here's mine , 1100 sq. ft. All in for $1.10 per. sq. ft.
