    1940's drill press

I found this picture over on the HAMB, but I can tell a few subtle differences between mine and others on the web i've came across. Example, the drilling plate and the base plate look different on mine...but then again, those might not be original. Can anybody come up with a year?

    1940's drill press

Thanks. Here's the break down of the total cost: TRADED straight across 16" Dremel scroll saw- picked up free 3 yrs ago. Delta 2 wheel band saw- $5 at a yard sale earlier this year. So, $5 plus $20 in gas (gestimate) to get there and back = $25 He couldn't find the original motor but he...

    1940's drill press

Ok, don't flame me just yet as I do not have pics...but I will later today. I put up a craiglist add to sell my 16" Dremel scroll saw and my Delta 2 wheel band saw (that I've never used) so I could buy this little 1970's AMT drill press here local where I live. In my add, I also quoted that I...

Another saved throw away from work!

Yea that was the first thing to happen. We took it all apart and cleaned it. Your right about that! Low speed has proven more than plenty so far out in the garage.

Another saved throw away from work!

Absolutely! I'm creating a problem with all these cool things i've been bringing home lately. I don't have enough power outlets in the garage, and I'm not a big fan of using power strips...but I do cautiously

Another saved throw away from work!

It was too loud for one shop, so another took it. Too loud for them also...so they were going to scrap it. I was at the right place at the right time because I've had my eyes on that fan for a long time. Mechanically, its not noisy, its the large amount of air that it moves is whats loud...

Another saved throw away from work!

Nice little 2 speed 26" Maxxair to keep the air flow in the garage down here during these hot FL months. No refurb on this one...me and daughter took it apart for a good thorough cleaning and put it back together. Its a little noisy but not as bad as the real big ones ive seen.

Ah man thats a bummer I dont have a "shop" theme going on in my garage but the things I do have get me by pretty well. I've been without a grinder of my own for 10 years so it probably wont get used too often. But its nice to know it will be a reliable tool from a long while.

Sorry, I repacked the bearings with hi temp grease while I was at the machine shop down the street, and simply cleaned and vvl'd the race on each side. Wasn't that technical. It was just really dirty in there.
