No, Amazon/eBay knockoff batteries aren't as good as OEM

Very interesting video. I saw another one of his comparing penetrating oils. He is very thorough with his testing from the two I have now seen. I have seen those cheap DeWalt copies being sold before and never trusted them. His comment at the end about buying the cheap battery for his 18v...

Pole building independant floor/ building movement ?

As long as the base and around the poles is properly compacted, floors do not move. Only other way would be if outside grade was not properly done and water gets under the slab. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Shed - Residential Detached Accessory Building

Just a quick search on google and this turned up. I just typed in detailed shed plans, went to a site that has 108 plans, found the lean to and clicked built this. You will have to modify for your overhang details and anything else that is different. http://www.just-sheds.com/1201f.pdf

    Tyvek lifespan

Yup, thats for sure. House wrap life span depends on brand, exposure, installation. But if it wasnt torn before you installed the siding, there really is no reason why it should have torn afterwards. Now being that its in an attic, did you put the house wrap over substrait or just over the...

    Insulation for old house (confusion!)

You can buy spray paks and spray foam yourself. It is a little more expensive, but you will get good air seal and insulation R factor from that. Better than cutting foam and caulking it. This is just being posted as an example...

Build Up Site For A Concrete Pad

Around my area we use whats called 2A modified. Its 3/4 inch down to fines all mixed together. Once compacted, its a strong base. Some areas to the north of me (PA) call this mix crusher run. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    temporary garage heating

I use one of these in my 26'x38'x16' garage no insulation (for now) Hardly any fumes, especially compared to a kerosene of diesel heater. I bought mine used, but it was basically new. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Remington-125000-BTU-Portable-Forced-Air-Propane-Heater/1000107973 There are other...

    tecrostar mezzanines

If you used engineered lumber (LVL, wooden I joist, etc) you might be able to get away with clear span. Depends on what your loads will be and the distance. I am putting a 12'x25 1/2' mezzanine in my garage using traditional 2x12 joist and a LVL beam. I will have 1 post in the middle of the...

Support Beams for a Wood Mezzanine

Probably going to make my own. Home Depot sells some for decks, but I am not impressed with them. Seem flimsy and if I would use them, I would add more holes for a few more bolts...

    Painting OSB

Helped a friend paint the OSB interior of his garage. We used Kilz stain blocking primer first, then two coats of white gloss enamel paint. Still holding up after 12 years, even where the chop saw blasts the wall with sparks (it is dirty there)

    Hydraulic Press Info.

Just checked and Grizzly is same price for pressure head, springs and spring plate(HF is all together as a unit). Probably easier to order from Grizzly than from HF. I struck out at the salvage yard. They cleaned house a little and guess that stuff went since it sat there for a few years...

Need heavy wall seamless steel square tubing.

I just saw that video a few days ago. Wish I had seen it a few months ago. But I lucked out and found some 2" square tube where the seam was not welded and the tube rejected. I can weld the seam myself. But for future builds, will be trying his method.

Fishingman, what part of PA are you located in? I live in between Reading and Allentown and know possibly 2 steel places you might be able to try.

    Heavy Duty Engine Hoist Build

If it were me, I would go for the Viking (2nd one you posted) The first ones are high in price IMHO. You could probably get the Viking for $175-$180 to. The other one is a lighter duty one.

    Hydraulic Press Info.

Wish they had a picture of the ram, because I am wondering after seeing the parts diagram, if they include the springs, plate. I know the one from HF is to have everything. There is a salvage yard near me that has hydraulic stuff. Probably going to stop there early this week and see what they...

2 stroke oil as cutting oil?

I would say in a pinch any oil is better than no oil. But 2 stroke would not be cheap. I use either PB Blaster, 10w-30 or 20w-50 oil.

    Hydraulic Press Info.

I have a large press I picked up from a salvage yard. Took a chance on it since I knew it wasnt working at the time. I only paid $125 for it and its a large 40 to 50 ton press (traditional bed plates are to small for it) I did get the cylinder worked on, but its still not working. Before I...
