    Shop press worth?

Well I finally had a chance to work on the press today. I found a place about an hour away from me that rebuilds gauges, so if I can get this to work, I might send them the gauge and see what they can do with it. They claim $30 per gauge for repair and that includes new housings, glass/plastic...

I bought this one, but am returning it. The outer neon tube does not work and its not the same design (I could have lived with the design) as shown. Just wanted to put out a heads up in case it pops up again and someone wants to buy it. Maybe at $20 it would be worth it, but not $49.

Notice the price difference for the same boxes? The coupon with the additional colors costs more, even though the blue, black and red are in the other one cheaper.

    Wilton bullets of Cambodia

I wonder how many are from US bases mechanics and fabrication shops. No matter the war or oversea base closures, we always leave stuff behind as it costs more to bring back to the US than to just leave it there.

You can also try a google search and find it that way and then just show it on your phone.

Would you buy a specialty tool your friend needs?

^^^^^^^ This Auto Zone, Advanced Auto and Some NAPA stores rent tools, actually you buy them, use them and then return them. But they are not put on the shelves for resale, they are kept there to re rent.

    Pencil Sharpener

I have 2 of the old metal Boston sharpeners. You can find them easily on Ebay cheap and you can also still get the sharpening rollers for them. The newer ones **** as they are made in China. My daughters school has the newer ones and she does not like them.

Anyone ever see any coupons for the Bauer Portable Bandsaw? I did not realize that you can not use the 20% off coupons on Bauer until I went to buy one today. Guess thats one reason why HF changes names alot.

    Corded vs Cordless Table/Miter Saws?

I would go corded. Cordless are great if you are on jobsites all the time and only need to make a few cuts here and there. But corded ones are cheaper, never have to worry about dying batteries and power. I have a cordless sawzall, but still have my corded one if I am going to be doing alot...

Jack shaft opener for wide door?

I picked up a used commercial Liftmaster jackshaft opener for mine (18'x10') My door is a heavy insulated door. Works like a charm. Only problem I have is the slowness of the door opening, I was told what size jack shaft sprocket I needed, could have been smaller for faster opening but oh...

    Kreg Track Saw?

I did that as well for a project 2 years ago. It worked good. Unfortunatly from not using it for a while, it warped on me. At $160, if I had known about he Kreg Accu Cut (not sure if they had it at the time) I would have bought that instead.

    Kreg Track Saw?

The one bad thing with this from a quick read of the specs is it only has a 62" capacity. So if you need to cut something longer/wider, it really wont work. Honestly, its just an overpriced folding table with holes in it, a track saw guide and a specialty saw. Better off buying the Accu-cut...

    36x18" concrete slab

Not really. Depends on the mix used. Some just use wire fabric, others use fiber mesh, other use nothing, but I have not seen any pads with rebar in them. As mentioned above though, if you can, I would mount to the building and raise it off the ground. Much better all around.

Oh why do I do this to myself shop projects

Holy **** what a rats nest you had to deal with. I can totally relate though. Before the snow flew this year, my boss finally let me replace the burnt out (and by burnt out, I mean the sockets had melted) Meyers snow plow head lights. I was already planning on rewiring the headlight set up...
