    Ego 16" String Trimmer (ST1623T)

I did find the Troybilt adequate out here. I purchased it back in 2014 when still lived in town and just brought it out here. I'm glad you mentioned fatigue, I did notice about the time the one battery ran out I was about ready to take a break. My drive says 'keep working on your chores' but...

    Ego 16" String Trimmer (ST1623T)

After 11 years I finally managed to kill my Troybilt TB22EC string trimmer. I'm skeptical of new stuff and a battery trimmer was no exception. Battery better than a gas engine trimmer? Of that grass outside? I had been researching battery power trimmers and wanted to try the Ego brand...

    earth auger

Rent machine w SSQA auger and be done with it. 5' deep holes are hard and depending on your soil can be pure hell. I'm still in the process of building a perimeter fence and in fact getting dressed to go dig the final two holes of the gate entry. 4" and 3.5" pipe set 5' in compacted dry red...

Best ratchet wrench? SO, Mac and Icon +more tested.

I agree with a lot of this - how does it fit, finish, operate, longevity? I wouldn't say I prefer the weaker option though, but I understand your explanation as to why. True it hurts to put a lot of force on a skinny wrench beam. Then it hurts again to bust your knuckles, but I guess that's...

Grease gun dripping oil, what to do?

Since I switched from a plunger style to a Lube Shuttle a couple years ago I don't have the issues like grease dripping or messy cartridge changes anymore. I suspect grease type matters as well. I still store my grease gun upside down, but not so it doesn't leak, but so the grease stays up at...

5 minute job , more like 5 hours. Condensate AC drain line.

Well, a quick google: After that, maybe a fan isn't a good idea. Good thing is you stopped the leak, now it can dry.

Garage Framing Question - Where to divide the wall when framing? (Also, mistake advice)

You will thank yourself later to fix the crooked framing now. ***** now but you can fix it. As for the framing break for install, move it to the right in the picture. Is there a natural break at 12 or 8 or those full 16' top/bottom plate? Looks like its gonna be a great space.

5 minute job , more like 5 hours. Condensate AC drain line.

I was gonna leave a laugh reply but I know exactly how those 5min repairs go :cautious: The fact you fixed the leak source will go a long way. Bleach it and let it dry out. A fan is a good idea if you can. Check on it intermittently down the line to ensure it is for sure done and gone, if you...

How an old feller lifts that 16 inch tire and rim back onto the hub

Before I lost use of my left arm I used the crowbar leverage method. After my accident I do this way like MFortie does.

    Glove recommendation needed

When I need gloves I use Nitrile. Mostly when using solvents or paint work. They do collect sweat pretty quick, it's gross. I do need to start using powder as they are tough to put on (especially one handed like I am). For general property work I am still on the hunt but right now using...

    Evolution saw s355mcs

I'm hoping to add that saw eventually. I've used their Rage3 for at least 10yrs. My only complaint abt it is capacity, Around 4" stock is where it can be hit or miss depending in setup and the type of cut. Hence wanting the bigger saw. The saw cuts metal just fine, great in fact. It is...

US General 56" toolbox weight? - UPDATE - IT'S HOME

That is a handy option in fact I saw one go by on the drive. I've rented one of their enclosed trailers before. Luckily the family cargo trailer ended up available.

US General 56" toolbox weight? - UPDATE - IT'S HOME

Is that the case for the Series 1 boxes since they are no longer in production? The answer is no, it's not on their site. Only Series 3 8 drawer cabinet info, which is a different box. ETA: Just for future searchable info for anyone coming behind (I didn't have the item # when I posted)...

US General 56" toolbox weight? - UPDATE - IT'S HOME

Just updating that we got the toolbox home. Used a cargo trailer with them strapped down oriented front to back over the axle. They did fit side to side but for the way the tie down anchors were oriented in the trailer we though strapping them independently might be the safer way to go. Next...

    Vise Identification

Hmm ok. Had a suspicion that was the case. The short story is we're cleaning up FILs place. He had several vises, different types and manufacturers. The others have tags or stamps and forgings which I could ID. But this one not so much. I appreciate the help.

    Vise Identification

Can anyone ID this vise? It has few markings and no tag. There's a forge symbol underneath, no photo just the drawing. And it has a big "6" on one side and "150" on the other.
