    Buying Wright tools online

I used Crawford Tool. I gave them a call after I thought my order should have been here, they kinda stammered and said they thought it was backordered. BUT, they did the Next Day Fed Ex shipping for me at no extra cost. So, forgotten order or back order, they did me well and I would use them...

Vintage Snap-On Screw Driver, Is it or is'nt it

Got a cheap Stanley or some other one with the same type of grip you could "practice" on? Sanding down getting to a real fine grit might be what it needs. I am guessing, ONLY guessing that it would work well.

Tool set for my Haiti job

I would not count on a hospital having enough or good enough gloves for you to use/take. They may, but you don't know. I was recently in South Africa. Theft was so bad, guys with leaf blowers would carry their gas can/jug with them instead of letting it sit. I am guessing Haiti is not a...

Need help making a decision on combo wrenches

They have done me well in the past, but I am no pro. The newer ratchets have given me a bit of grief, but not the wrenches. If you want to consider it, I have had great luck at pawnshops, and I got to know a Snap-On dealer and got some used and re-po stuff. I get a lot for my money at a...

    My screwdrivers stink - literally

My wife has a set of red and clear Craftsmans from, I am guessing, the early 90s. They were in a little wood tool box and they STUNK. I have the more common (?) ones from that era and do not notice it. Mine have the blue band around the bottom of the grip. Mac G3 laptops had a bad body odor...

A lot to search through but some help on a shop vac

I have had a Shop Vac "quiet version" for about 8 years. The switch went bad once, and since it was a non serviceable part, they sent me a whole new motor. Free. I am happy with it. It is 8 or so gallon, stainless and pretty darn quiet. I have not known anyone happy with the red plastic...

Need some ideas for big wall art...

I am going to try to make this photo work, but have a bit to learn. Keeping with your GM theme, I recently came across a GM era (I think) Detroit Diesel/Allison sign. It was stored in a shop for 30 years, give or take a few. Price was right, and my father-in-law built a frame with some lights...

Has snap on tools changed (for better or worse?)

Trying to get quality chrome work used to be opening the phone book, (remember those?) and I had my choice of several shops in the Tacoma/Puyallup area. While there are still a couple of shops around, they shipped big stuff like my bumpers out of area. The ones I used to use have been shut down.

    Home HVAC Question??

I would never pay for one, as the one time I used it probably took a year off my life due to anger and frustration. The HVAC guy that fixed the fan motor worded it so they would pay for it. As far as getting a good HVAC guy, priceless. The joker that installed it in this house before I bought...

    hassle with mac tools warranty

Competiton benifites everyone. I have had co-workers in other companies embarrass the daylights out of me by their actions. You just buckle down and work harder. But it ***** when you spend that much cash and get forgotten about as soon as your check cashes. On the other hand, the Mac man in...

    Really stupid moves

I have a Mustang with an FE series big block, (428). Dad told me many years ago to always check to make sure the oil gasket came off with the old filter. Do a quick oil change on the car, drive to a friends house.....whats that smell?I shut it down as everything in my mind came together. I...

    Hello from Puyallup WA

I have had a lot of Mustangs, (1970 and older), a few Fox bodies, such as a 88 Saleen and an 85 SVO. 69 Shelby Mustang and a 67 Fairlane are in the garage right now. Things are a little tense right now, as I have just got out of a bad relationship with a 6.0 Ford Truck. Back in the day...

    Hello from Puyallup WA

Lurked for a bit here, thought I should say "HI"! Just a regular guy with a garage and a love of cars, tools and shops. I was alway around my dad as he dug into his old Kennedy (sp?) tool box and worked on all sorts of things. I am looking for organization ideas and some tool ID as well...
