What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Pulled the carb off of my stubborn generator and found an orifice clogged with old gas Goo. Cleaned, reassembled and started. Ran great, tomorrow I'll run it dry and dump the carb bowl rather than rely on the drain.

Those pocket sockets are handy and were a coveted item when I was a junior sailor. As I recall, the NSN was "discontinued w/o replacement" .

Tried to start my back up generator with no joy. Carb looks to be gunked up even tho I ran it dry and drained it last time. Ran out of patience and time today, need to pull the carb and give it a full look over.

Replaced a broken belt on my lawn tractor. While the deck was off I swapped out the blades for the sharp spares. I must have hit a stump, one of the blades was off the star on the mandrel and boogered it up. A little Dremel action and the blades fit fine. Pulled and sharpened the blades from...

Installed a tube in my leaky tractor tire. I was hesitant to Slime it because of the mess if it didn't work. Over in my Pops garage we got him rolling on a new rider.

I replaced the carry handle on my vintage Sears battery charger. I used a strip of old conveyor belting, replacing the old plastic strap. Blew the dust & **** out while it was opened up.

Pulled the front wheel on my garden tractor to patch the leaky tire and found about a dozen pinholes. Either a new tire or tube. Also broke the eclip that holds the wheel on the shaft, trip to the parts place for that..

Changed the Craftsman tractor over from snowblower to mower. Never saw the snow this year. I'd sharpened the blades in the fall so it's ready to go.

Yes. I've had some plastics or rubber liners react poorly to petroleum products.

Continued to fight with the 8HP briggs on my lawn tractor. I replaced the rings and got it running but it's really fussy and dies with any load. Yesterday I replaced the coil (original from the 70s), The governor is adjusted correctly, I'm looking at the valves next.

Tore down my chainsaw, cleaned up all the accumulated dry and oily dust. Sharpened the blade, cleaned the air filter. Ready to go. Continued working on my small lawn tractor. I re-ringed it in the fall, got it running but it needed almost full choke. Today I checked the valve lash, opened it up...

Definitely vintage navy shipboard furnishings. We had them in the cadet berthing areas on USCGC EAGLE, tore out dozens of them during a rehab of those spaces.

Oil change on my DD. First I had to get the drain plug loose. The head was rounded and with the recessed location, removal was a challenge. Ended up using a chisel to cut a notch and then knocked it loose with a drift punch.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Oil change and tire rotation got shortened up to just tire rotation. Oil drain plug was super tight & rounded off. I figured I'd stop there until I had a replacement in hand. That pushes the oil change well into next week.
