What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Not in the garage, but started putting up the t&g pine ceiling in the basement. Although I was running back and forth to the garage to cut the pieces... And the wife got me a new sign for the shop

State of Garage Construction, 2024 Edition

I went with a metal building company that had a website where you could design your own building. Once I and the wife finalized what we wanted, (me bigger - her, not a square box) we used that design to get the quote from the vendor. We also used that design when talking to post frame...

That's a great idea! For our bikes, we've gone with the hooks that grab the tire and hangs them on the wall which makes it easier to just pull one down...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Continued with shop organization. Put up a wood rack for leftovers from projects. Installed a kayak hoist/pulley/thing and generally cleaned up. Once the basement ceiling is done, I'll be able to figure out how much of the T&G pine I have left and come up with another project for it...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I run a propane heater in the shop in the winter, but I'm paranoid about dying....It really affects your productivity - so I keep a window cracked so oxygen can get in.....better safe than sorry I guess

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Sunset Ridge Shop Build

It's a 1962 Honda 50 that my brother's dad bought new. My brother rode it for years then about 10 years ago, his son broke the crank as he was trying to kickstart it. My brother was going to get rid of it so I took it and am trying to find someone to fix the crank and I'll restore it and give it...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Sunset Ridge Shop Build

Now that I've moved all the T&G into the basement to acclimate before installing next week, I actually have some floor space to get stuff done. Put up some shelving in the back corner, cleaned up and moved my FILs old Craftsman drill press into place and general organizing and disposing of...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished and installed the shelves. Lag bolted them through the plywood into the steel beams just to be safe. Also started cleaning up my FILs old Craftsman Drill Press - its actually in pretty good shape. Just dirt, grime and some surface rust on the main pillar. Also put a new cord and switch...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Shop was definitely cold this morning. 36 outside and 39 inside. Not too surprising considering it's a big metal box... The propane heater fired up and eventually got it up to about 50, but that's as warm as it would go. Which was actually not bad. I have a 4' wall that I wanted shelving for...

    Gas or wood fireplace?

yeah, we've got a mix of pine, cedar, fir and oak. Although I mainly cut and split the oak. I do have a cord or so of split pine since the trees were down but that's "just in case" or to be burned in our outdoor fire pit.

    Gas or wood fireplace?

A lot of good comments here and most everything seems to have been covered, but for us, with regular power outages, 12 days last winter, 7 days the year before, we have both. The gas stove upstairs which we fire off every morning while having coffee and a large wood stove downstairs that we use...
