Anyone have success getting Lowes to honor Craftsman warranty?

I've had a mixed response at my lowes. I easily returned some old rusty sockets, no questions asked. A few months later I tried to return a breaker bar, the associate said no. Then she got the manager for me. He also said no. I then showed him the craftsman warranty, and he still said no...

    Rebuilding air compressor- tank question

Hey, I'm rebuilding an old speedaire 80 gallon compressor. The tank is 30 years old, and I removed a bunch of rust from inside the tank. The tank is still solid. Should I spray something inside the tank to prevent or slow down additional rust? If so, what should I use?

Is the Default Advice to "Get the Tekton Set" still Relevant?

I have some tekton stuff. It's good. As was mentioned, the line of quality keeps getting thinner and thinner with sockets and wrenches. Sockets, wrenches, ratchets, I'd rather buy used SK/proto than anything new. For pliers, hard to beat channellock, especially for the price.. That said...

US General Tool Storage - Still best bang for the buck?

Those 2 are the ones I am talking about. The husky weighs more. the weight listed on the box at the store was 570 lbs. So, it has more material in it...I guess. And it holds more. The weight capacity really jumps out at me. That tells me HD is using some really cheap slides... HD touted 120...

US General Tool Storage - Still best bang for the buck?

I was I HD today and came across the 72 inch bottom cabinet with the stainless top. It was 1200 bucks. I was at HF a few weeks ago and thier 72 USG was 1600. I havent really investigated closely the quality of each box. But I can say that the husky box weighs more, and the steel is 18 ga, in...

    2021 Garage Sale Thread

I went to a swap meet last weekend. I thought I would find tons of used hand tools. It was shockingly slim. Lots of worn out battery tools. But at the end of the day, I got this little bit for 10 bucks. Proto, sk, bonney, Williams and indestro. Not too shabby...

The end of gas power tools in 2024

I get why CA is doing this...except the generator? What? Anyway, I was skeptical about battery powered lawn equipment. And I'm still not fully on board. I have green works equipment. I can mow, weed eat and edge an acre on one battery. My wife also has no issues using the equipment. So...

    Nail gun recommendations

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a roofing nailer and framing nailer. I'm not a pro. I'm going to add a 20x16 room to our house, and might build a little shed. These will see light farm use from time to time. So, I'm looking for good guns. I also dont want to spend professional gun prices...
