Great Info! I did see that and Told him about it. You do bring up a good point of the cause. "Bad melting Fuse Socket" ! He's been looking for a newer truck and going through the aches and pains of that right now! Crazy! LtF

    Low Profile Mini Fuse

Exactly! When my son first called me he said that the bad fuse didn't want to come out easily with the plastic fuse tool so I had him disconnect the ground at the battery and use a small set of needle nose pliers and he was able to remove the old burnt fuse. I agree the plastic fuse tool is...

    Low Profile Mini Fuse

So my oldest Son's 2012 F-150 truck wouldn't start Saturday and it would crank but not fire. So on his era truck it's common for that to happen so I told him to replace the 20 amp fuse ,#27 which is for the fuel pump and since he didn't have another one I told him to rob another 20 amp like...

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

Naturally it's like anything else and the more you explore the more you discover and find out. Are sure that the pipe is not separated and interrupting flow as a broken or clogged, or blocked pipe will also act like a completely frozen pipe. Just another thought as I've chased many a blocked...

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

Just a tip. If your gonna keep it as a Spare you might want to think about storing it in a 5 gallon pail of water with some simple green or something similar after you clean it good. A friend of mine didn't and it seized up. Just an FYI. LtF

12 point sockeets in addition to 6 point working on cars/light trucks and SUVs: do you have both shallow and deep? which drives?

The more that I think about this and without beating it to death I seem to only grab the 12 point Sockets when the clearance around the fastener,(bolt head/nut), is tight or limited, as someone pointed out earlier the 6 point socket will do everything that a 12 point will do and it was also...

What are nut setters for? Never seen or heard of them till today

I agree! The Self Tapping Tech Screws with the cutter in front of the threads. As you put more pressure on the Driver the bit will try to go sideways sending the screw sailing in any direction that it sees fit but with a good Nut Driver bit it makes it almost fool proof. I've used some pretty...

12 point sockeets in addition to 6 point working on cars/light trucks and SUVs: do you have both shallow and deep? which drives?

I'm right there with you! Same go to Family guy as I have no problem with it! It's amazing how I've gotten others to not only try but to step up as we won't be around forever. It's enjoyable to teach and pass along. The right tool for the job comes to mind in this Thread! LtF

12 point sockeets in addition to 6 point working on cars/light trucks and SUVs: do you have both shallow and deep? which drives?

For me my hobbies and job requirements have been many over the years and I can honestly say all of the above do apply. Some of the Less expensive handy thick walled deep well sockets won't do in tight places you need to reach a bolt head or nut because tolerances are tight. Yet when you over...

What are nut setters for? Never seen or heard of them till today

Another point also. I've noticed as I get older that I don't have the Dexterity that I used to in my fingers and just last night I was putting some cabinet childproof latches on at the kids house last night, and as I was putting the small screws in some kinda tight places I was trying not to...

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

Looking at all the Sandy grime on everything that you pulled out of the hole. If it were me I would install homemade filter fabric inside the Sump to filter the water coming in before it got to my pumps and increase the life span of the pumps! JMO! LtF

    Vintage S-K Tools

I've had good luck with some SK Tools and I do prefer some of their stuff particularly the socket sets! Can't say I ever had a bad SK Tool in my hand! They have a good feel and fit for my liking. I even had a socket replaced for free under lifetime warranty yrs ago. LtF

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

Good points! For me the pump is submersed in Cold water and during the winter Ice Cold water so the heat in this application doesn't really apply for me. As much as I'm a fan of Cast Iron and being built stronger and possibly better, I had to replace a Cast Iron Pump years ago due to Excessive...

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

I think all in all you have to do what's best fot you and your set up. Keeping the sump pit area clean is important as the gravel blocked the impeller and clay and dirt debris isn't good either! I only suggested the 1/3 horse that works for my set up as I don't have to pump vertically for 10-20...

    Sump Pump Gurus Step Inside

Years ago I went to a 1/2 horse powered pump and the electric meter charge was a tremendous difference in increase. So I experimented and went with a 1/3 horse powered unit and being on a creek bottom that flows all the time it works fine and a tremendous electricity savings that adds up...
