3/8s Impact - Which would you choose?

I have an AirCat 1055th stubby and love it. Very seldom use my air ratchet in the garage anymore. I see the 1077 has the same specs but it is a 3/8 drive. Might be worth looking into Sent from my Z962BL using Tapatalk

Whats a good air impact ?

I would suggest a stubby over a fullsize for general auto repair. The size lends it to being more useful, the downfall of course is the lower output. I have several Aircat tools, and haven't had an issue with them. The same can be said about my only Chicago Pnumatic tool which is an air die...

Just picked this up at work for 10 dollars. Aircat 1375XL. Guy sold it because it wouldn't remove any bolts that the other guys put in with their SnapOn MG725 lol. I tried to explain to him that the SnapOn should be compared to the 1150 or 1250k model, but he just wanted the junky Aircat gone...

Why Are Raised Panel Wrenches/Ratchets Bad?

In my experiences, the raised panel wrenches are leaps and bounds above the RP ratchets. I have broke only 2 wrenches from the set I bought in 1997. Broke the box end of one double wrenching (it was the box end on the open end, not on the bolt) and the other using a cheater pipe. With that said...

Weekend mechanic looking for Made in USA Tools

Ebay is a great place to look for sockets, ratchets, and wrenches. SK is one of my favorite brands, along with Proto. Member four.cycle post alot of great deals in the eBay permathread. Tooltopia has this set of metric SK combo wrenches for 156. I just recently picked up a set to replace my...

Single handed pliers better suited for cutting hardened wire than knipex cobolt

I have been using Klein 63016 heavy duty cable shears at work for a around a year now without any signs of dulling. I mainly use them to cut wire cables off railcars, but I use them to cut the bailing wire/rod when I bail up cardboard from the compactor also. I use them often to cut excess off...

    When/Why To Use Socket Adapters? 3/8 to 1/4, 1/2 to 3/8, etc

I commonly use 1/2" to 3/8" on my torque wrench that runs from 12.5 to 250 ft lbs. Anything that requires more than 120 ft lbs or more, and I'll use the bulkier 1/2" drive impact sockets. Sent from my Z962BL using Tapatalk

Impact Driver - Necessity or Time Saver?

I have to say that I mostly use my 1/2" Sunex impact socket set most of the time. Usually for the simple fact that I am using the stubby impact, but when I run into a place that it won't fit, I'll just grab the 1/2 ratchet. If I was to start over, I would get a stubby impact, both SAE and...

FedEx dropped these off a few minutes ago. Got a great deal on them from Tooltopia. SK 86265 15 piece metric 8-22 mm. I found a pretty good deal on Amazon for the 23mm,which I will use on my motorcycle, so I grabbed it also. Sent from my Z962BL using Tapatalk

Been ordering some SK Tuff 1 ratchets here lately. It all started with just grabbing a 1/4" drive for work. Well I liked it enough that I bought another for the toolbox along with a few more. Picked up the Proto 1/4" J4749XL just to try one out. Im quite impressed with the Proto, even being only...

    mini impact wrench? thoughts, suggestions?

Lots of choices on this subject. Check out Real Tool Reviews YouTube vid on stubby impacts. I personally have the Aircat 1055-TH that I picked up on sale from Amazon for 80 bucks. So far I've only ran into 2 bolts that it wouldn't remove, and that was on an International tractor. It has 500 ft...

    School me on die grinders

I have a CP 860es (extended shank) that I picked up from Amazon Warehouse Deals cheap. The COO is Japan. It's 24k rpm at .5 hp. I don't use often, but it works flawless when I do. When I was researching die grinders, Dotco was a name that repeatedly was at the top of the list. I've seen some of...

    Best 1/4" ratchet

I purchased one a few days ago myself. It hasn't even made it's way to the garage yet, but the fit and finish of it is awesome. I'm amazed by the small head of it. Sent from my Z962BL using Tapatalk
