How durable are brass hooks and picks?

The inside of the molds (cavities) are aluminum for ease of repair. As for the flashing issues, its usually on startup or if a machine runs out of material, the next shot when the material is back, usually causes the flash. The plastic sits in the extruder and cooks for too long and is being...

How durable are brass hooks and picks?

Anyone ever use any brass hooks and picks? If so, how durable are they? Im a process tech on plastic injection molding machines and they will be used to dig out flash and stuck sprues and runners. The tool shop has been breathing down our necks about not using brass tools, but they only thing...

    Is jb tools website legit??

Ive placed several orders with JB Tools. Some through ebay, other times on their website. Sometimes, one may have a better price than the other. Always a great experience. I purchased my Autel Maxsys Elite from their ebay store when ebay had a 15 percent off code. Sent from my LML713DL using...

    Looking for ratchet reccomendations

For a cheap used ratchet that is pretty bullet proof, i would turn to ebay for an SK round head ratchet. I believe the 3/8 drive is 40 tooth. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

New hard handle screwdrivers from Tekton

Does this mean an end to the [emoji89] phallus tri lobed handles? Though they look goofy, you can get some cranking torque with them. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

I believe i seen somewhere that it is 32 tooth mechanism. Ill count them tomorrow. I have one dail type cdi for inch lbs, and snap on tech angles for 3/8 and 1/2" drive in the garage. Used the PI several times last night, and have no complaints. The only other ratchet I use at work is a...

UPS dropped this off today. Precicison instruments 1/2" 40-250 ft lb torque wrench. First split beam style torque wrench for me. It will stay on 95 ft lbs most of its life besides the occasional mold that needs the clamps torqued to 120. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Anyone ever use a 4.5 & 5.5 mm socket?

The plastic wiper cowling on my Saturn is held on with three 4.5 or 5.5 mm and two plastic push pins. Same for the sheetmetal screws that hold the speakers in the rear deck and door kick panels. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

I picked up a set of the smaller ones at lowes to carry in my back pocket at work. They are rather sloppy compared to their bigger brothers. The vacuum packaging made it impossible to tell in the store. My coworkers doyle pliers put them to shame. If i knew, i would have picked ordered up some...

Flex Head Ratchet Locking or Non - Locking

I picked up the Gearwrench 120xp set about a year ago and they are from Tiawain. I prefer non locking myself, but cant stand a floppy head. My 1/2 inch drive can hold a 7/8" sunnex impact allen socket without any problems. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Cordless conundrum

Ive been pleased thus far with my Ryobi tools purchase. Especially since i gave less than 200 bucks for all 5 tools. I thought the circular saw was crappy since it had a clear plastic guard on it, but it survived a fall from 17 ft onto gravel a couple weeks ago. The impact driver had its first...

Ratchets - Quick release or not

Snap on non quick release ratchets are bear to get sockets off. If the socket gets oily, its takes a wipe off to get them off. Its a double edged sword. Your not losing your socket in the deep unobservable abyss in a tight spot by accidentally hitting the button. A good quick release should...

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

I picked up this kit on sale for 159 dollars from Home Depot and included 2 free tools. The grinder and reciprocating saw have got a workout, but until now, the impact and circular saw have seen very little action. As for the drill, it is used mainly for bolt extraction, but has performed well...

    Torque Wrench necessity

I use a torque wrench on anything that goes into aluminum. Lugnuts and any sealing surface that needs consistency among the various fasteners also get the exta time to grab a torque wrench. Shock mounts, leaf spring u bolts, and fasteners of those sorts, get the feel method. Sent from my...
