Most important, but least used tool?

Im going to have to go with one of these heavy cumbersome contraptions also. When you need it, they are a life saver. Just used it the other day to remove some screws from a door cup so i could remove the panel. A combination of moisture from exposure to rain along with change sitting in the cup...

    High Tooth Count Ratchets?

The old SK Tuff one ratchets are about the smoothest i own. They are 72 tooth, and no longer produced by SK. Once you clean the old grease that turns to goop out of them, and apply some new superlube, they are buttery smooth. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

Anyone wonder why Ryobi makes an 18v battery weighing the same as their 40v ??

More voltage at the battery pack on a tool that has the same ohm resistance load would mean more amps available. Ohms law. 40v battery with a drill that is 4 ohms would net you 10 amps of current with 400 watts of power. The same drill on 18v would only net you 4.5 amps of available current...

    Proto Tools....are they ****?

I have 3/8 drive 24 tooth like in the picture below. While its not sloppy in the backlash department, and it feels well made, i have as much use for it as the craftaman raised panel ratchets in mybox. Love my other proto tools though. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Proto Tools....are they ****?

Nothing at all wrong with Proto branded tools. They have some quality tools in thier lineup. Ive had one warranty experience with them for an allen socket that broke. It did cost me shipping one way, but a week later i had a replacement. Compared to SK sockets, their 3/8 drive metric deep...

    Tekton - brief initial impression...

I wont lie. Im a fan of the allien phallus screwdrivers. Didnt have a single issue with the metric wrenches, wilde prybars or usa made pliers. Everything i have used from them has been fine thus far. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Autel MaxiDas v. MaxiSys

On my Maxsys Elite, when i close the diagnostics screen, it beeps and gives me a warning to make sure i remove the bluetooth vci from the car. So far i like it. Ive ran into a few makes that it didnt want to communicate with the bidirectional functions on the evap system. Otherwise, havent had...

Which is stronger? Milwaukee 18V Fuel 1/2" Impact or a 25" Breaker bar ?

Re: Which is stronger? Milwaukee 18V Fuel 1/2" Impact or a 25" Breaker bar ? Who needs a locking compound when you have carc paint on it so thick a socket wont fit on it. I forgot to remove the gauges in a hummwv once. Got the vehicle back with painted over gauges. Sent from my LML713DL using...

    Bad Milwaukee m12 batteries repurposed

I have Zanfare charger on the way from amazon. One feature it has that i didnt see on most others, was the ability to use the batteries in the charger to recharge devices via usb. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    Bad Milwaukee m12 batteries repurposed

So as it goes, i had one of my older m12 batteries fail. Instead of throwing it away, i decided i would disect it. Inside was 3 Samsung 18650 batteries, which one had failed causing the flashing lights of death on the charger. So out of curiousity, i decided to put one of them in my HF 390 lumen...

Can a shade tree mechanic have TOO MANY SOCKETS ?!!

I could most absolutely do without my 1/2" chrome sockets because of the impact set i have. But back in the day, i didnt have a nice air compressor, and cordless impacts were not available. Therefore, chrome and a long breaker bar was the go to. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

How many rivets would a tool have to break without grinding before deemed reliable? Ive cut 3 unfortunately with my DID KM500R on a 530 vx xring chain so far without a problem. I do have a scrap chain that i accidentally cut one link too short that i could give it more of a workout with. But...

    Welding Critique

It looks like a gas coverage issue to me. Assuming your mig welding, 25 to 30 should be fine. Check the condition of your nozzle and make sure its not covered in boogers and splatter messing with the gas shielding. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

Looking for a good T30 Torx socket, any recommendations?

I would get a manual impact driver that you smack with a hammer and a bit to go with it. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I would have to give that chain breaker a fail. The only thing it broke was itself when i tried using it on a 530 chain without grinding the rivet head first. Sent from my LML713DL using Tapatalk
