Thanks for the info on that tumbler. I had no idea it was that nice. I had fun watching the videos. I went through the Kennedy 620 today, and there were no tool surprises inside, but that thing is MINT! (FYI the front is there just not in the picture) I hope to get through the other boxes...

I hit a surprise (for me) estate sale this weekend where a pretty crowded house and basement needed to be cleared out. The new owners take the property and all remaining contents tomorrow. The word hoarder was used, but it sure seemed like an organized hoard. The guy had way too many...

I believe I used to carry tetrachloride as a typewriter technician in 1979 or so. I am sure I may be missing a few extra brain cells, but boy that stuff worked great! Used it to clean almost everything. We had the stuff in 50 gallon drum and I used to go through at least a gallon a month...

well, i went through all the drawers and I don't have any of the additional pieces. oh well... something to watch for.

I think I found the plunger... Here is what I have - I will have to keep an eye out as I go through the box. I will pull each drawer tomorrow for cleanup, and go through the items.

yes, you can still buy them. For some reason I always seemed to have them on my bicycles when I was younger. If they used valve stem covers like that they would have had the tool available.

It does no look broken off. There is no break in the finish there, so I think it is just mold marks. I looked at that area pretty closely when I got it because it looked suspicious and I thought it might be some type of marking. But I think they just did not grind down the mold marks.

A quiet visit to the kitchen later and I can tell you that it fits fairly well on an 8 inch diameter pot. It is painted, Ovlive drab.. maybe going towards brown. Snow not withstanding... I may try to go back for the last day of the sale tomorrow and look around to see if I can find an answer.

here are some additional pictures. The "flat" part is actually a wedge. And the part that would go against a table in a hold down is fairly "rounded" on the bottom and flatter on top - the flat part is 4 inches long - sorry there was nothing in the pictures for scale. There are no markings...
