    2021 Garage Sale Thread

Sorry, it's a 3/4 x 5/8. But it's the look that I always go for, so I will keep an eye out for you. I took a quick look in my displays and did not see any others, but... I will look a bit harder over the next few days. I know I have seen these before, it seems unlikely that I don't have a few...

$3 spent at the flea today. An old brass rivet box with some vintage darts in it. A cool elapsed time meter, and an Indestro wrench that just looked lonely. They cleaned up nicely.

Aaaaaargh! I found a picture of an old Craftsman rotary tool set and found that it is indeed the Craftsman tool, but it is apparently missing an accessory handle. that explains the shape of the cutout in the cardboard insert. (NOT my picture)

    2021 Garage Sale Thread

Well I made it out to the last day of an estate sale and spent $8 on this stuff. A pair of pliers from an old kids tool set, a small adjustable wrench with no markings, a couple light sockets, a PLVMB 3/8 5270 swivel, and this old Long C Craftsman rotary tool kit. Here is the kit before and...

Old Radar that B&S micrometer in the box is amazing. So many machinists tools are so well preserved because of the care they had to use. I have told myself "no more micrometers"... but I would have swooped that up in an instant. Zip94 - you **** on that Streamlight price! With todays...

The Lugzsonian - A Virtual Tour

Lugz! You've been busy! It looks great.. realizing I should probably end a sentence without an exclamation point at some time but just can't bear to. There is a warmth, an essence, to old tools, and old things that is just so inviting. You have nailed it. I have always been in awe of your...

and a couple more... I love early automotive literature... that's a 1903 master patent for some early automotive "improvements" - I think there's a Ford and a Nash wrench in there too (ignore the fish! Lugz warned you about my displays!)

Show us your Vintage Automobile Paraphernalia

Lugz, glad to hear the Lugzonian has even more of the artifacts on display! My approach to displays is 'opportunistic' at best. On any given day, something catches my eye, reminds me of my lost ones, or maybe stands out to me on how it speaks from someone else I never knew in a way that must...

Well I found out what my gravity fed students lamp was SUPPOSED to look like. Thanks Outlaw for getting me on course. I think it is too far gone to go in the pristine direction... maybe I polish it down to brass and copper. Oh well, I will set it aside and think on it for a while.

Thanks Outlaw - the info on the boxes is helpful. there are actually two boxes, one black and one brown. The paint is so bad on they that I am not sure if either one is original - lots of runs and drips - but at the same time it could be - inside matches, no hint of previous paint. Maybe the...

oil/kerosene lamp? I am hoping someone can help me ID this. It has no makers info. There is an upper reservoir to hold fuel. It says only "close valve after filling" . once you fill it, you close the valve and it is sealed until you put it in the lamp. Not much of the burner/lamp is there...
