    Rebuilt a log splitter at work. Brass replacement cost was over $200. Got someHDPE for$35. An hour’s work cutting and drilling worked like a champ. Wore a little faster but had enough for4changes. Might be a cheap fix.

    Had a similar situation to your 550 hydraulic problem. We built a separate engine driven pump setup, {think hurst tool setup}. It worked like a champ, no hanging transmissions and all that entailed. Maintenance on the setup was minimal and saved a ton of money.

    Had that happen,really nice 86 ford diesel. Paid cash, driving home,oil pressure dropped to 0.trucks running fine, mechanical gauge showed good,new sender lasted 18 years
