Will this junction box hold a ceiling fan?

Oh man, don't engineer anything, go to lowes or HD, or electrical supply use and get a fan rated fan box, metal or plastic, either threaded rod expanding type, side hanger (it won't twist the joist, don't worry) or pancake or joust straddle type. Trust me, this is what I do, well, it's not all I...

No threaded hole for grounding wire in outlet box

Bx cable sheeting is rated as ground. A lot of metal boxes are not flush with the wall, so he might need a self grounding Rec.

No threaded hole for grounding wire in outlet box

You can use a grounding clip instead of a ground screw, or drill and tap a 10-32 hole for a gr scr, but easiest thing to do is use a self grounding outlet, thoung I would first check to verify 120v. to the box to make shure the box is actually grounded. In old buildings, things have a way of...

Goodyear Auto Service Center LIED to me about changing my Brake Fluid!!!!

I just spent a lot of time flushing my old brake fluid with 185k miles on it out, and the new stuff looks the same as what I flushed out. Don't get too excited, they probably did flush it.

Cant fit new joists for sistering

remove the wiring and pipes, install the new joists, then reinstall the pipes and wire. Also, I bet theres some kind of steel plate, teco maybe, that you could use in a shorter section with a lot of screws that would work well.

Rough estimates for running power underground to some outbuildings?

No man, its not a code rule, its what the manufacturer lists as the hightest branch circuit circuit breaker is approved to go in that particular panal. I've never seen a sq d 200a br that can go in a panal besides being a main br, but, if they make one, and the panal label approves that breaker...

Rough estimates for running power underground to some outbuildings?

What Alcamist means , I think is, say you have a 200A exterior MB loadcenter, largest circuit br you can put in it is 100a or 125 I think. But if it has feed through lugs that aren't being used, you can use them to run a 200a line to whatever you want. Also, you can get a lug kit (I forget what...

Termination of Aluminum feeder cable (myths??)

I have NEVER Ben able to pull a wire out of a lug after I've tightened the lug, not even been a loose one. But there are time when you get those luge that when you go to tighten them, the setscrew tends to bind. That's the only thing I can think of that has caused you loose connections. You...

Termination of Aluminum feeder cable (myths??)

no, it cant jump the score, but any cut into the conductor will derate it, also wiggling it was a bad move. It wont help get a better bite on the conductor, but will open any cut in the wire even more. You must have enough slack to maybe cut that one or so inch off and strip it more carefully...

    New 200Amp service questions

It sure is, I know all too wade. You shure that isn't a 42 space panel, I don't recall there being a 32 space available. If so, tellem you want a 42 space panel. And you want full 1"'spaces so you'll have more room and won't need to use halfspace or twin breakers when it starts getting full...
