A/C cycles off before reaching temp, then resumes

Don't know if this is normal. Occasionally the A/C (condenser and fan) will turn off before set temperature is reached, then turn on again after maybe 10-15 minutes. Is it possible that it is intended to do this? Is it possible to that it is this was intentionally to maybe be is set to shut...

Li-Ion jumper stored in a car in the summer - in Phoenix

I've done the research, and I am familiar with the Li-Ion vs Super Capacitor discussion, but my 2 main questions are... In Phoenix, even in my garage the temp is over 90 for 4 months straight. Now, add to that, if I'm out for the day and parlk my car for 2 hours, it's going to be over 100...

Polymeric sand, paver sand, or neither on pavers?

Yeah, it's permeable under it. When I said power washing I only meant to get dirt out of the seams first. Oh, and nothing is moving, it was just an idea pure for aesthetics

Polymeric sand, paver sand, or neither on pavers?

I don't remember what my driveway looked like new, but I was thinking of refreshing the sand in between pavers. I don't know if polymeric is even an option as the joint spaces are maybe 1/8 inch wide and average about 3/8 deep, and the instructions, along with what I read. requires more width...

Pre-treat for termites or wait until visual?

The more I think about this the more I realize that this is a good weekend project, And it's true that saving $600 is the same as earning $600, and yes, I'd would manual labor for $300 a day, and it won't take me a full 2 days. Part 1) So here's my thoughts. Based on the last time I had it...

Pre-treat for termites or wait until visual?

I know, and that's where I buy my Bifenthrin and generic Talsar. I also know about the concentration and 4 gallons per 10 linear feet, but for about $600 I'd rather let someone else do it as it would take me a weekend to shovel back gravel and trench a foot down - not that I really think they...

Pre-treat for termites or wait until visual?

Ok, Termidor. So it seems the concensus just to get it now, before activity is seen.

Pre-treat for termites or wait until visual?

I understand all of the above. The 2 posts seem to have 2 different answers to my query. One seems to suggest to get it treated now, the other says to be watchful, implying that I can wait until I seem signs, or my yearly inspection/

Pre-treat for termites or wait until visual?

New home build in new subdivision 5 years ago. Here in Arizona it's the old adage - there's two types of homes - you know the rest. Do I get the typical treatment now (trench, can't drill due to post tension) or just wait for visual and get the free annual inspection? Also, any thoughts/about...

1/2 poly irriggation tubing in the Arizona Sun?

The pressure regulator in that pic was in line just before the union. I can never seem to connect PVC without it leaking - even takes me 3 attempts at a P-trap. Anyway, i decided to go the other route. You can see my larger original regulator. Just a couple ******* and some compression...

1/2 poly irriggation tubing in the Arizona Sun?

It's after the solenoid valve. It was in the ground, as is almost all. But after repairing a leak I decided to move the valve to the top, it's just much easier to service. Also, I'm going with the PVC, it was so easy to piece together with the screw in lengths and having 1/2 tubing hanging...

1/2 poly irriggation tubing in the Arizona Sun?

It's about 2 feet from my irrigation valve/solenoid to the ground. For easy possible repair, and for ease of installation I was thinking of just running the 1/2 poly tubing from the valve to the ground rather than connecting (and painting) PVC to the valve, an elbow or two, then connecting the...

Attaching/tightening a nut to a bolt without a wrench on the back side?

This was too easy. One side tightened up under its own pressure with nothing more than a fender washer, and I slotted out the other side. Best of all, it's now removable if I need to.

Attaching/tightening a nut to a bolt without a wrench on the back side?

I like the stick nut but don't weld or know anyone that does. Not sure how strong the backing of the rivnut is? Other than the stick-nut, this idea from pmiranda seemed about the most straight forward, and removable if needed "Can you put the bolt in from the back with the nut on top? Then you...

Attaching/tightening a nut to a bolt without a wrench on the back side?

As you see the pictured nut, it actually came with this but need an additional washer and was still concerned, as I only get one shot - once it's on, if it's not tight enough I can't get it off again I saw these but wasn't sure exactly how they work since the star washer spins freely and...

Attaching/tightening a nut to a bolt without a wrench on the back side?

I need to attach a small bracket to a piece of metal that is similar to a car fender. The problem is that I can get my hand around to the back side to hold the nut and finger tighten but there's no room for for any type of wrench to hold it in place while I tighten it with a wrench from the...

Small rattle can project - masking question

Yes, the rail is off the car, it's just that the rubber is with it and mostly together, though I can get a little space between the two. I'm not worried about the black overspray for appearance, just if it harms the integrity of the rubber

Small rattle can project - masking question

I'm spray painting (probably Rustoleum Professional) some car side rook rails. They go slightly in to a groove and have a rubber molding on the underside that fits in the groove and hold everything snug but probably not really water tight. I'm thinking that I really don't want to get much...

Water heater won't drain unless supply is on.

I understand about fishing to clean out the drain, but how do I open the drain with no hose and clean it out without water running all over? Do I just put a big tub under it? Maybe moot point if I'm replacing it under warranty - see other thread
