Armstrong now closed is owned by Danaher that also ownes Matco, not sure who was actually making the ratchets but they definitely shared designs and parts. Pretty sure the Craftsman premium non quick release ratchets use matco internals. Why I have the Armstrong ratchets a lot cheaper than matco...

I have the matco BFR58 3/8 ratchet in 1/4 body and converted some Armstrong maxx ratchets all have done well and would recommend the conversion or matco ratchet

Not every bolt on a truck or mower etc is grade 8 or higher I would like to see the same test done with stronger bolts as well to see if the results change. To me it has merit lots of low grade bolts out there, I have broken of heads on industrial high voltage transformers.
