    Best Spring Clamp Pliers?

I’ve found these to be the best, and I really like the fact that they lock in place and also allow you to rotate the pliers themselves out of the way. A bit pricy but they work really well.

Anyone have the HF 50 Ton Press?

I can honestly say that I’ve yet to find a bushing or bearing that I can’t press out with my 20 Ton HF press - and I live in Chicago (Rustbelt USA). I’ve never even needed to heat, or pre-heat anything. Every now and then I’ll spray a part down with some Kroil or MouseMilk and just let it...

    HVAC Air Filters

I buy a big case of the cheap ones and just swap them out every month. That’s what I was told from a couple of HVAC guys about 10 years ago and haven’t had any issues since.

Adding a Nest WiFi thermostat to a Hot Dawg Modine garage heater

Just in case anybody else runs into the same issue as me - needing a C (constant) wire with 24v, so that the Nest thermostat can recharge its batteries, here’s what you do. Find the 24v transformer inside your heater and add a pigtail to it (mine had two black, a red and yellow wire, with the...

    Coats rc15a leaking air

I have a COATS 7060EX and it works great but it sometimes fails to release a rim after it’s been clamped down - regardless of how you clamp the rim (from the outside or the inside). I often have to disconnect the air to the machine in order to loosen the clamps. Any idea what that could be...

    Tire machine advice

You should be able to find plenty of used COATS rim clamp tire changers for 1K, or less even. The best part is that these are all USA made machines that are everywhere (typically that’s all you’ll see at tire shops) and you can easily find almost every replacement part you’ll ever need on eBay...

Reelcraft, Coxreel or other, which is best

I have a reelcraft electric reel and I really like how easy and drama free it is to use. It pulls out quite easily and to lock it you just let it go back really slow. It locks in about one foot of travel. Anyway, check out Craigslist or Offer Up. There’s always a ton of deals out there.

What Machine Tools Do You Have?

Yes I use my tools on both of my 914’s and also the rest of my cars, as well as other friends cars. My cars only go to the shop for alignments and that’s only because I haven’t found a reasonably priced Hunter alignment machine yet.

So I hate to discuss this...

I have a BendPak HD9-B (extra wide and tall but regular length) that I got about 12 years ago. Only issue I’ve ever had was a burned out lift switch that I blame on a friend that was abusing it. I called BendPak on a Saturday and got a new switch sent to me for free (and it was also an...
