Could try heating it. The old grease might be hard and some heat may soften it.

Seller wants more than twice what a brand new one costs for this identical used rusty tool???

When I had the Le Car, it was probably in the middle 1980's. It also needed new front brakes. I bought rotors, pads, spark plugs, cap, rotor and points from JC Whitney. It came to around $40. Kept the car a couple years. it got 50 mpg, and was the first front wheel car I ever had. Never had any...

Grease gun dripping oil, what to do?

I read up on grease dripping, it told me that grease is just oil with clay added to thicken it. Sitting around, the oil separates and drips out, leaving the thick clay behind. The only thing I have that even needs greasing, is our riding mower. Two kingpins, and two spindles.

Seller wants more than twice what a brand new one costs for this identical used rusty tool???

Many years ago I had a Renault Le Car and one of the front axels went out. I called a wrecking yard that I used to frequent, and they said a used one is $100, I thought that was a lot. So I called the local Renault dealer, a new one was $90. I called the yard back and told him that, and would he...

    City road bandaid repair.

See if they will spread some calcium chloride on the patch. The cc will absorb moisture out of the air, and keep the patch damp. It helps a lot with dust.

    I hate mices

I mix half flour and half plaster of paris, put it a little dish. The rodents eat that and die later when the plaster sets up in their stomach. Not dangerous if an animal eats the dead mouse later.

    Paper Gaskets

To select the correct case gasket, you would want to first assemble it without any gasket, and measure the crank end play. A dial indicator is the easiest, but a feeler gauge can also be used with a little thinking. After you get the side play figure, you would want to use a gasket that will put...

    Finishing Garage Walls with Plywood

I would coat the bottom edge and up a few inches on both sides with linseed oil. After it dries, it can be painted, later on.
