    No, but it does give you the opportunity to take your business elsewhere. Save for a small town with monopolized retail businesses you always have to option to spend your money somewhere else. The market will speak and the businesses you feel are taking advantage of you with exorbitant markup...

    There are all sorts of dispatch methods. Each has their advantages and disadvantages. I've been exposed to digital dispatch, team system, foreman dispatch, manager dispatch, and a permanent dispatcher. Out of all of them digital is the most equitable.

    Bought my son an ender 3 for Christmas. We've been making a lot of cool little trinkets, but where it really proved itself was the simplest thing we've made to date. A button for the e-brake on my car that broke off. The handle assembly is like $200, but $.05 worth of plastic saved the day :D

    I agree with most everything that was stated in the link you posted. Being at the top of the flat-rate food chain though, makes it hard to change. The ones that bash it or flock to salaried fleet or maintenance jobs are the ones who can't cope with the system.

    GM World Class tech. Been at it about 15 years. Havent had a week under 50 since the recession.

    I have never, in my experience, seen a shop that pays salary. I know almost certainly that no one would pay me a salary even close to what I make on flat rate.
