    Snap On Truck Prices?

^ I agree. I probably have 10k in snap-on tools. The only promo stuff I ever get is a free pair of $5 socks at christmas. Spending $330 isn't much compared to what a lot of his customers are spending.

    Snap-On Student price list

I bought all my stuff when I was in school at the student prices. It helped out a TON. Now I have a big box filled with only snap-on tools, and no monthly payment! :)

recomend a 1/4 inch air ratchet for pro use

That's interesting, I have a 3/8" Matco air ratchet that I've never really been happy with. The ratchet mechanism seems to get **** in it really easily and cause it to jam up. I have to knock it against something to get it restarted. It also seems like the top section of the ratchet is always...

What's your Garage to Living Space SQFT ratio?

Mine is currently 1:1. Garage is on ground level, Living space is above it. Granted I don't live in a massive house, so it may not be as impressive as it sounds but it's still a pretty decent sized garage. It's a rental property though so I won't be there forever.

Pics of Kayak storage in the garage??

Wow sorry guys, I didn't realize there was already a thread about this. I figured I would have seen it and I didn't bother to search. My bad. Thanks for all the great advice though!

Pics of Kayak storage in the garage??

Yep, that's only a few miles up the road from where I live. How did you mount the pvc to the wall? That looks like a pretty good idea

Pics of Kayak storage in the garage??

Hey everyone, I go kayaking quite a bit and I have a cheap 10.5 foot kayak that I store in my garage. Up until now I've just left it on the floor because I have a pretty big garage and I haven't actually used it for much car-related stuff. However, my project car is getting transported to my...

Someone sell me a SO ratcheting screwdriver...

I have one, It came with the rest of my tools as a set when I was just starting out. Honestly it sat in my toolbox for 3 years until I saw all the rave reviews on here and decided to give it a try. I'm still not entirely sure what all the hype is about. Yes, it is very smooth and well made, but...

if you could buy one screwdriver set

Do snap-on dealers sell williams stuff? Or would I have to get it off the internet? That screwdriver set looks like a pretty good deal.

what is the biggest bit set for a ratcheting screwdriver

Harbor freight sells a bit set for about ten bucks that I use. It has plenty of bits in it, many of which I don't even know what they are.

    metal cutting options?

I've used a variation of the Harbor Freight bandsaw that goes for about $290. I bought mine from grizzly but I'm pretty sure it's the same one, painted a different color. It gets the job done, and I've used it a ton of times. Probably had it for about 5-6 years. The only issue it seems to have...

I played hooky from work today and...

I had to take yesterday off to go to some doctors appts (which ended up being pointless but that's a long story). I was done with the appts by about 11 am so I did a few things around the garage, watched some tv, and went out on my kayak. A pretty enjoyable day overall. Unfortunately I work...

    Thinking about a career as a mechanic/technician? Advice/help welcomed.....

Out of curiosity, how does one get into technical writing? Does that require a four year degree usually? I'm a tech and I think I'd like to get out of doing this before I'm stuck here for life. Oh yeah, original poster- I know it's been said 10000 times already but don't do it! I absolutely...

    it's garage sale season!!

Damn I'm jealous! I used to have that set of SK screwdrivers. I think I originally got them from harbor freight or sears for like $7 or something (this was a few years ago). I used them all the time at work for interior bits and things like that, but eventually they all got lost or stolen or...

    Snap-On Heritage Boxes

I would have to disagree with that. Most of the Krl's seem to have a sturdier "frame" design on them. look at the edges of a good krl box and look at the bars between the drawer banks. Kra's seem to have a frame that is made out of a lot more sheetmetal rather than square tube. I think the...

    Snap-On Heritage Boxes

I have a 41" top & bottom set. I've been a tech for 4 years and worked out of them for the entire time. I personally like them and they serve my needs. Not quite as nice as the krl's but they are still very nice. I think a lot of people who rip on them don't really know what they are talking...

    Why Buy New?

Another reason why some techs (including me) buy new is the student discounts available at trade schools. I went to Wyotech and bought all my snap on stuff for 50% off retail while in school, which helps a lot. I could probably trade my box in to my dealer tommorrow for what I paid for it, and...

someone reccomend a good larger tool/service cart?

I use the kra4107d with the matching 4 drawer top box as my toolbox at work. I used the roll cab alone for a while. I think if you're really mainly interested in storage it's not a bad idea. It's relatively portable, but when it's loaded with tools I wouldn't want to be scooting all over the...

Help identify the ratchet extensions on Wheeler Dealer.

I'm also addicted to this show. I was watching the dodge charger episode last night and saw a lot of teng tools on there so now the whole sponsorship thing makes sense lol. I don't think I had heard of them before seeing them on that show.
