Sounds like the treads are pulling out to me. Pull the head off and check. You might need to helicoil that bolt.

Does anyone know the difference in size of the head between the 1/4” and the 3/8”? If it’s much smaller I might give up the ft pounds to be able to get it in tighter spaces.

Yes I’m thinking I am going to get a stud from NAPA and set up jig to test a lug nut. I’m not sure but a bigger bolt might not give the same results and I mainly want to know for lugs

Make sure it’s not 3ph 440v or you will need a transformer too.

I used an old cheep engine stand some one gave me. Just started welding receiver tubes on it. Has wheels so I can roll it around easy.

Really like the peg holes in the front of his bench so that he can work on pieces vertically. Will be using that for sure.
