    Radiant heat insulation around doors.

So this is what I'm left with after putting 2" of rigid foam vertically everywhere around my pole barn. My floor will be 6" thick. My plan is to taper the insulation down to 1.5" on the face the girt will cover. But I'm not sure what to do about the part the door is hitting. Do I taper it...

    Foamular vs kingspan

So how stable are your foam sheets when you put them down. My stone isn't the flattest so my foam has some spring to it as you walk over it. I'm sure the weight of the concrete will make it contour to the stone easily enough and the bottom of the concrete doesn't care what it looks like. I...

How much movement is allowable in your stone base?

I read the quote again and the stone spec'd is #5 Certified Drain Stone.

How much movement is allowable in your stone base?

There was nothing put down before the stone and there was no compaction of any kind.

How much movement is allowable in your stone base?

With the building up and after some rain, you can see the dirt settled around the posts. Most of them were like this.

How much movement is allowable in your stone base?

Here is what I started off with and what it turned into. Cut on one side and fill the other, no fill was brought in. There is some moisture under the vapor barrier, but I don't think that's something I'll need to worry about now.

How much movement is allowable in your stone base?

I'm assuming this shouldn't happen, but did I fix it by just stepping on the soft parts and leveling it out? I will say that this is on the wet side of my garage, it faces up hill and I don't have gutters yet (to be installed next week) and it rained a ton last night.

    Rebuilding an AFF 200T jack

I'm bringing this one up again since the Jack still leaks down. I guess I need to replace the over pressure valve... and cross my fingers again.

    Foamular vs kingspan

I started cutting up mine last night! The first pass was with a good utility knife then switched to a cheap one with the blade you break off when the tip gets dull since it has significantly more reach. This stuff cuts pretty easy that way.

    Under slab vapor barrier

Got it, so you don't need to pull the plastic up a foot or so beyond the top of the skirt board. Another option I came up with was to attach the foam to the skirt board then put down the vapor barrier... but that seems like an idea from someone who can't make up their mind!

    Under slab vapor barrier

I'm getting ready to do my foam insulation for radiant heat and the question came up of where to put the vapor barrier. I understand that the foam insulation can be taped together as a vapor barrier, but that may not be the preferred method. Typically the vapor barrier goes between the stone...

    Foamular vs kingspan

How did you stick the insulation to the skirt board? Will you use vapor barrier or just tape the insulation seams?

Door opener safety beam doesn't work!

So what part of my first post makes anyone think I want to bypass the safety beam? For the record I have a 1 year old and want to use the beam to stop the door from closing when I either change my mind or when the timer tells the door to close after I forgot to hold it open. For those who...

What's this scored version you speak of? That sounds like a great way to break off sections for the perimeter!

Are these 2 close enough that it doesn't matter which one I use? Foamular250 vs. Kingspan for under slab insulation. I will be stapling my PEX down to it. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kingspan-In...tion/999972968 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Co...lar250%7D%3Aqu

Door opener safety beam doesn't work!

Today I noticed that the safety beam on my opener doesn't stop the door from closing when you break the beam. It's a craftsman 139.54920. I can hold my hand directly over one of the sensors and it only stops the door every other time or so. This is also the door that seems to not remember...
