Do new Record bench vises say China on them and old ones say England? If not, how can you tell where they were made? Are all of the ones made in England good?

The Parker vise in the attached photo isn't too far from here. Is it a very collectible model? What is it worth if nothing is broken or missing? It looks original except for the spindle retainer (looks like a nut).

I have a question about my Parker 974 1/2B vises (Union Mfg, Parker Div). I bought 2 of them recently that are identical. I noticed that one was not perfectly flat on the bottom and it actually rocks on the flat swivel base. I thought that someone must have put a tremendous upward force on it...

They are roll pins. I figured these vises were not too old because the model label (974 1/2B) on the side looks fairly modern. You can see in the photo in my first post. They look like good vises.

You are right. I looked on the side and its said Parker Vise Div, Union Mfg Co.
