    Things Snap-On Tool owners say.

I use my tools to make a living so I can afford to enjoy my days off. The odds of hurting myself on the job are much less likely using a quality tool than a cheaper tool. Yes my high dollar tools still break though they break less often. I'm the idiot at work with the largest, flashy, most...

    Things Snap-On Tool owners say.

My take on my snapon tool box is it's a lot like a pickup with leather seats, you don't need either...

What’s the big deal? 3/8 anvil in 1/4 body?

I Have this 1/2" ratchet known as stubby whubby. It comes in super handy for the industrial junk I work on. It's the length of a "normal" 3/8" ratchet. https://shop.snapon.com/product/Dual-80-Technology%2C-Chrome-(1-2%22)/1-2%22-Drive-Dual-80-Technology-Stubby-Handle-Flex-Head-Ratchet/SKF80A

Source for individual Icon Hand Tools

If you warranty one yes, If you loose/ modify one I don't think they'll pull one out of a package to sell to you.

Source for individual Icon Hand Tools

Not sure it would be worth it unless you were buying discounted sets missing a piece. I just randomly grabbed pricing on the metric jumbo wrench set, buying individually it's $83.75, the set goes for $79.99

Source for individual Icon Hand Tools

I've always been leery of buying Icon stuff because my work environment eats tools, you can't buy individual tools at the store. I had heard rumors you could buy individual icons though never looked into it. I had some time today and dug into it. Individual icon tools exist with very...

    New ICON 30/60 angle wrenches

I prefer the 30/60 and replaced a set of 15/60 with them. I've run into situations where the 15/60 just don't cut it. We -4 clamp cylinder lines on a cone crusher that are a pain to tighten under a dust shield, you run into a dead zone with the 15/60 that doesn't exist with the 30/60.

    New ICON 30/60 angle wrenches

Angle wrench sets to 17mm or 3/4" are great for auto mechanics and DIY guys though pretty worthless for heavy equipment and industrial mechanics. Hopefully they come out with expansion sets to at least 1 1/4" if not 1 1/2" or 2". I'm on my 3rd brand on angle wrenches. Originally I bought a set...

What’s the big deal? 3/8 anvil in 1/4 body?

My older snapon 3/8" guts in a 1/4" ratchet saved my **** a couple weeks ago tightening a bunch of coupler bolts connecting a coupler to a gear box on a cement pug mill. I almost never use it though that little ratchet saved us an hour plus of plant down time even after the 20 minute drive from...

3/4" Breaker Bars, is Snapon King?

Dangit, adding that to the ebay random good deals while bored on night shift list. I've been trying to avoid going down the 1" rabbit hole, that's where I try to draw the line on what the company should supply. It does look like there's an l873 1" ratchet head for $300 on ebay right now. Our...

    Snap-on tool box value

As others have said contact your local rep which can be hard to track down though it sounds like you know where one lives, his name and number should be on the side of his truck by the passenger side back door. Depending on the tool 50% of retail is a fair starting price for used, some tools go...

    Snap-on tool box value

Sorry for your loss. Giving a local snapon rep a call is worth a shot. They may be willing to buy it or take it in on consignment. They offer financing to buyers which allows for much higher sale prices than cash price on facebook/ craigslist. First state tools on facebook is also worth...

    They took our (welding) jerbs!

I think this is the smoking gun right there. A traditional welding robot isn't sold or supported by your local welding supply. These will be pretty easy sales for welding gas/ supply reps. I can see it now when a rep making their weekly visit listening to a shop owner complain about how they...

3/4" Breaker Bars, is Snapon King?

A while back I forgot my Icon 3/4" breaker bar underground at one our paste/ concrete pumps. I came back in to find this I hadn't been real impressed with it. 2 guys pushing on it without a cheater pipe it had a lot of flex. The icon was broken while our other crew was here. I'm thinking...

    They took our (welding) jerbs!

I've been saying for years learn to fix or design automation or get automated out of a job. I work in mining, automated haul trucks are coming down the pipeline. When it costs $500k a year to keep a body in a seat 24-7 automation has a pretty short ROI. It's not a good time to bank on spending...

    Half Hutch Tool Boxes?

I finally have the box complete with all 4 pieces. I've been working out of the bottom boxes and hutch for a while. I really like the half hutch for throwing tools in and going home at the end of the day. It does collect junk though a full hutch would just collect more junk. I still need to put...

    looking at 1/4 Torque wrenches

Is there a cheaper knockoff of the snapon tech angle? After buying one in 3/8" they are awesome. Knowing how much toque you are applying before it "clicks" is nice. Sometimes you are at that it feels really close and I don't want to push it feeling, the tech angle will tell you where you are at...

New Millwright: Gray, Mac, Snap on

That's a miners wrench, some of them even have miner cast into them. Calling a construction millwright a miner a good way to end up out at the bike rack at an underground mine. Every true underground miner (they actually drill, blast, muck) I know carries 1. Most union millwrights I know are way...
