    Cornwell Blue Power Angle Wrenches

The only time I've run into the need for a metric angle wrench is on a metso cone crusher. The actual fitting is -4 JIC though if it's a factory hose it has a 15mm hex, if it's been replaced with a hose we've made it's a standard hex. There's always the buy snapon one at a time off e-bay option.

    Cornwell Blue Power Angle Wrenches

The cornwell deal doesn't look horrible. Do we know the country of origin for the cornwell? I'd be a bit worried about getting replacement wrenches/ warranty. The same wrenches from Tekton are $401 with an easy to get warranty/ replacement wrenches. Can't you order the cat set pretty easily? If...

    SAE Wrench Sizes - 1/4, 9/32, 5/16, 11/32

11/32" for #8 hardware, 1/4" and 5/16" for hose clamps and self drilling/ sheet metal screws. 99% of the time I get away with a socket in those sizes, 11/32" wrench is nice for #8 hardware working on the boat. I've used a 1/4" wrench on occasion to turn a 1/4" hex bit. I can't say I've ever used...

Who makes good 24” adjustable wremches?

If you are buying a 24" wrench for the jaw capacity and don't necessarily need the leverage look into an F wrench also known as an automotive wrench or smooth pipe wrench. https://www.crescenttool.com/products/wrenches/adjustable/c715-15-automotive-wrench My 15" opens to 3 5/8". It's awesome...

I like ridgid adjustable wrenches. Made in USA, decent quality.

    Air compressor oil change.....crazy prices!!

You must be thinking rotary screw compressor oil. The compressor shop I worked at used iso32 turbine oil in rotary screw machines. You did see some machines with hydraulic oil in them so I could see ATF working in a pinch. The IR long life rotary screw oil stinks though is required for an IR...

    Air compressor oil change.....crazy prices!!

The compressor shop I worked at used non detergent 30 weight in every piston machine including a large national tire chain that ran 2 7.5 IR piston machines in hot closests daily. We rarely had issues and these machines didn't have an easy life, they did get serviced quarterly running for 500+...

Drawing the line between 3/8" and 1/2"

At work the majority of the time I'm working a minimum of 100' to 1/2 an hour drive from my tool box. It's nice to grab a case or rail of sockets and have some extra coverage. My go to socket set is a 1/2" deep SAE GP impact socket set from 5/16"-1 1/2". Just today I was rebuilding a pump, it...

    Bearing puller

Yep. My ebay special CJ950 had slightly mangled jaws, a quick clean up with the die grinder and they are good to go. If they get too mangled I'll just have the snappy guy warranty them out for me. Warranty on commonly mangled things like pullers, punches, chisels, and ratchets makes snappy...

    Tools are too cheap?

When I bought my Wilton 4lb 12" unbreakable the faces were pretty dented and soft compared to my coworker's older version of the same hammer. Fast forward 3 years and it's now tough as nails and looks similar to the older Wilton. I'm wondering if the wiltons need some work hardening.

    Bearing puller

E-bay is the way to go for snapon puller stuff. CJ950-951 are real common and can be had pretty reasonably if you wait for one to pop up. I used my used ebay special CJ950 with ebay special snapon 2 jaw puller stuff yesterday on a saw bearing assembly, worked awesome. The only thing in this...

    Torque Adapter Options

I learned this one working on desert/ ultra 4 race cars. We used to nut and bolt the car with a combo wrench. There was no way we were really checking 5/8"+ bolts. Once everything was torqued to spec we stopped having issues with loose bolts.

    Torque Adapter Options

I ended up picking up a snapon 1/2" drive spline drive set from 9/16-7/8" for $112 off e-bay. My coworker bought the 15/16" and 1 1/8" from the snappy man. I'll report back once I get to use them. It seems like snapon has the bigger size market locked up.

    Smooth jaw pipe wrench

I picked up the 15" version. It's been handy for big hydraulic lines though it's a bit clunky and better than nothing. It replaced the 15" adjustable wrench in my tool bag.

Anyone make their own hydraulic hoses?

We have a couple Eaton aeroquip crimpers at work. I believe fastenal stocks our hose ends/ fittings. 1 machine is a 1390, the other is a 1380. The 1390 is kinda hard to see the hose ends though is for the bigger 4 wire stuff. I've worked at a couple places with 1380's, they work great for and...

    Impact socket coating durability

I remembered to grab pictures today. I have snapon, GP, Tekton, Pitsburgh, and Husky 1/2" impact sockets. Here's pictures of them all. All sockets are kept in a tool box in a humid environment (southeast Alaska) with varying temperatures between 50-90 degrees depending on the heater wars. I...

    Impact socket coating durability

I'll have to look at my Tekton impact sockets and see how they are holding up. My impact sockets are always getting covered in mud, water, concrete, and gold concentrate at work with lots of temperature changes and humidity, I'm always fighting rust on them. I have GP, husky, Pittsburgh, and...

What price would this Snap on box move at?

Has he talked with his rep yet about what his rep can do? I'm guessing it's financed through snapon? I'd make sure he's 100% not going to go back to turning wrenches before dumping the box. CDL drivers who can turn wrenches are in demand. I'm curious what 1st state offers. They didn't have...

    Flukes are tough!

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one. That ***** about the meter. Doesn't your Mac man love you? Warranty? I'm guessing younger guy? No clue how you teach common sense without making a ton of **** ups and learning from your mistakes. I've got an apprentice who would...

What price would this Snap on box move at?

They are just stickers. Usually they are shipped with out the stickers installed and the rep installs them.
