Re: Build Thread: "The Shop" Industrial Design / Architecture / Loft Apartments Your shop is basically what I've always wanted to do. Did you buy the place, or are you leasing/renting?

    Dropping stuff

I once heard someone refer to small springs as being 'concrete soluble'. Once they hit the garage floor they are gone forever. Just like Gregster, I end up replacing a few 10mm 3/8 drive sockets a year, lol.

My first Welding project, a welding bench

Damn nice table, all you need is a better vise. Trust me, I know -- I have that exact same vise. Don't hammer on it, it'll chip pretty easily. Good job!

Where to find 21mm tire iron

Anyone cover a work bench in sheet metal?

If you do choose to cover your bench with sheetmetal, be sure to glue it down well. The previous owner of my house covered the built-in workbench with 20-22-ish ga. galvanized sheet, bent it in-place to the shape of the wood bench, and nailed it in place. While it is still in one piece, any time...

Who makes the best locking pliers in the world today?

Grip-on are my absolute favorite. Great quality, smart design ideas. They are the OE for Snap-On Locking Pliers.

    Jackstands are built.

Man, those are nice. I can't quite tell, did you make one of the feet adjustable on each stand? I'd love to get a setup like that.

    Tool Deals From Boeing....

If I was local to the sales, you can be sure that I'd be picking up a pallet lot of tools from them. There's actually a seller on eBay who buys pallet-loads of tools from Boeing, and sells them off via eBay. There was a lot of ~100+ c-clamps, I would have loved to get that, take what I need, and...

Bluebird folding?/towable 3,000lb engine Hoist? Worth it?

I had the opportunity to grab one of those, and I am kicking myself for not picking it up. I'd get it, as it's bound to be exponentially better than the average Harbor Freight hoist.

How deep to bury a bump guard

Be very careful welding Galvanized pipe. You need to completely remove the galvanized coating before welding, as the zinc fumes can be deadly.
