    New drill bit set

I'm sure they're very nice but damn, they're proud of them that's for sure. I just looked at their current pricing and as of right now, that 29 piece set from Astro is $217.06 on Amazon. That's a lot of money for Chinese drill bits. The "made in USA" Norseman version of that same 29 piece set...

First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases

You're right.... Harbor Freight is specifically a tools store so if anyone should sell singles, it should be them.

First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases

Menards sells singles, and so does Home Depot to some extent.... along with Northern Tool and maybe even Lowes. (I rarely shop Lowes so I can't say for sure) Sears had a huge selection of singles and they weren't just for warranty purposes. I bought singles all the time to replace lost and...

First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases

You bought a brand new pump at HF and had to use the extended warranty to get it replaced after only a few minutes of use??? That's weird.... Normally you don't use the extra extended warranty until the 90 day factory manufacturer's warranty runs out, (if any) or at least until the store return...

First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases

My reply to this thread (the one that you quoted) is in direct response to the title of this thread, which is "First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases" If you meant something else, then maybe the title should've been different? Otherwise, I stand by...

    Crowsfoot or Flare Crowsfoot

You don't really pick one over the other. They both server different purposes. That would be like asking.... "Should I buy standard combination wrenches, or should I buy flare nut wrenches?" It depends what you're working on... One tool does not do both. If it were me? I already have both...

First trip to Harbor Freight in a couple years, surprised at some price increases

I did NOT read the entire thread but I thought I would add this...... I can't think of any goods or services that have stayed the same price since Sears closed their retail stores. Inflation has hit EVERYTHING including the products sold at Harbor Freight. If my weekly grocery bill has...

USA mini pry bars from Tekton

Nope. None. I just looked at my order history on the Tekton website and I was only charged for the 4 piece mini pry bar set. $24.00 dollars, plus sales tax...

USA mini pry bars from Tekton

I ordered a set of the mini pry bars the other day when I saw this thread. (I also received an email that same day about the mini pry bars) They arrived at my place today and I found a 1/4" socket driver (spinner handle) included with the order. I only ordered the little pry bar set so either...

Menards vise apparently HF knockoff (pics)

I highly doubt one US based retail store is directing a Chinese factory to copy the design of another Chinese product that is sold in a different US based retail store. lol. Most likely you are seeing two different factories version of a specific model NAME BRAND vise. They are BOTH copies of...

Bingo. That is exactly how I feel, too. Those pictures above confirm just how I feel about wagos.

    AC Soft Start Kit

I never said a hard starter would "push" more current.... In fact, the word "push" never appears in my post anywhere. lolol And likewise, I never said a soft starter was a current limiter, either. Please do not put words in my mouth. (even though we are both typing, not talking) lolol

    AC Soft Start Kit

Don't confuse a "hard Starter" with a "Soft Starter". They are two completely different things. A hard starter is an extra start capacitor that will kick the compressor with extra current when starting. A soft starter does exactly the opposite. It uses electronics to slowly ramp up the...

    AC Soft Start Kit

It's basically a variable frequency drive. I own and use one. It works as advertised. My A/C startup amps went from 74-75 down to 14-15. My A/C now starts on my 9000 watt inverter generator with not even a hiccup.

Looking to get a micron gauge for auto a/c

A lot of guys never even think about their vacuum pump oil.... as long as the pump works, it's good enough, right? Well, not really. Just like most guys don't use a micron gauge, most guys think the small vacuum scale on the gauge set is accurate enough to properly vacuum the system. It gets...

Looking to get a micron gauge for auto a/c

Like we mentioned earlier in this thread.... testing with nitrogen is a relatively new thing. There was really no reason to test with nitrogen back when refrigerant was dirt cheap. That all changed when prices went through the roof You're right... NEVER use stop leak in an A/C system. That's...

Looking to get a micron gauge for auto a/c

It's surprising how fast nice clean vacuum pump oil can turn to a disgusting milky gray liquid... I usually buy it by the quart from the local tool dealer. (luckily we have a local brick and mortat tool dealer here in town)
