    The VISES of Garage Journal

Gorgeous vise! Do you mind measuring the handle length when you have a minute? Mine is missing. Thanks

    Canadian imported vises

Nothing wrong with imported vises. Those who don't like them seem to only want to look at them and collect them, nothing else. At least yours have got a purpose.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Well done. I take it you made it tall enough to clear your forehead?

Inverter location: dedicated cart or table shelf?

Hello, In two minds whether to (A) fab a small welding cart for my inverter, gauntlets & mask, pedal and bottle or (B) modify my existing 40"x25" welding table by adding an extra steel shelf to it? I just want to store the welder & accessories in one place. So interested in practicality of...

    Toolbox with a hutch?

Agreed. I haven't a clue what I bought. Doubt SO themselves can answer this question.

    Toolbox with a hutch?

Matt, Thanks for the picture. My only gripe with the hutch is that it's too darn low. I have the light and it's nice but working on the top has become a nuisance. A bit like using a sand blasting cabinet where your hands are where your eyes can't see. To answer your question, I bought it for...

    Toolbox with a hutch?

Thank you. You seem to be convinced I've made my own bed so have to **** it up and move on. We are not talking about coupla hundred dollars here, bud. When SO designed the hutch they had an idea how it will work for people. That's what I want(ed) from the head office. There should value for...

    Toolbox with a hutch?

Merely trying to find more uses for the hutch you know? Complain? Assumptions. I spent a bit of money with SO and several of their drivers and have had good experience when I need help. KRL1023. Thank you. I thought of putting the whole things on blocks of timber to raise it. A gearbox...

    Toolbox with a hutch?

Ordered a hutch for my SO took box. At the time it looked purposeful. When it arrived I realized what an expensive mistake it was. - My worktop area has shrunk. No more bulky items to inspect or tear down. - My forehead is sore from bumping into the lid. I no longer can lean over something on...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

http://www.ebay.com/itm/391715608796 And no, I didn't get it. Missed the auction by a few minutes. No harm done, I'm sure something else will turn up sooner or later.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I've had better bargains than this but it looks like a value too good to miss so I'm probably going to get it. Finding the place to bolt it down to is the next problem.

There's no way for me to check it properly without making the trip. It looks okay but you never know.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

You are right. Which is why I said 'one of those'. The condition of the one I'm thinking of buying is much better as it has had very little use over the years. The jaws and the vise itself are about 8 out of 10.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Can anyone share their opinion on Chas Parker vises? I came across one, 6" and in good overall condition. I already have a vise but at $30 I might get it. Or shall I wait for something better? Parker is a 6 hours return journey. Thanks.
