    Howdy from DRPD!

I have several Trusco toolboxes. They are awesome. Super handy, well made, bright colors, enticing prices, just cool little boxes in general. The Dogyu (claw) hammers are the ones I see most often around here. Never used one myself, but they seem fine.

    Howdy from DRPD!

Not me. My vehicle is all metric. I would be using them (T-handles) for all-around shop duties. I have the Bondhus dipped T-handle sets hanging at my main bench and I reach for them all the damn time. The knurled L-wrenches I would have in my portable box. I always prefer a knurled driver if...

    I need a micro torch

I am not familiar with the smith airline or the metco midget. I got the Uniweld at my friendly neighborhood welding supply because that's what they had that fit my rig with just a brass thread adapter and the price was reasonable. After the fact, I did bit of digging and saw some of the...

Favorite or Best quality vs. price value 1/4” drive metric and sae socket set

There are a couple HD Supply stores here. I have definitely seen Wright tools there, but I've never looked through their catalog. As far as their presence in industrial/construction, I would completely agree. The 1/4" Wright ratchet I have I would put up there with any of the high end...

    Un-Attended Battery Charging - - Caution

I haven't personally or known somebody personally who has had an LI overcharge result in a fire. BUT... my neighbor/buddy is heavy into RC cars, and I can tell you those LI packs burn up ALL THE TIME. I don't know if it's just rapid chargers, wholly and dangerously cheap and under-spec'd...

    Howdy from DRPD!

MIKE! Welcome to the GJ! I was so excited to come across your site ~1 week ago (looking for some PB Swiss). What I would personally like to see from PB Swiss: SAE versions of the "safety" L-keys (The knurled ones made from round stock) SAE versions of the T-handle drivers (Not the plastic...

    Un-Attended Battery Charging - - Caution

I shut off my main breaker and all the breakers in the sub-panel, and all the switches to everything, and discharge all batteries before going to bed each night. The fish, the dogs, and I all sleep with ESD grounding tethers too. I can't sleep without one at this point. I even disconnect and...

    What is it?

Could be part(s) of a machinists' jack (leveling/support screw for work). Some consist of a base, mid section, and a top (that contacts the work). Those could be stacked mid sections (with knurling to permit easier turnage). Are the 'caps' threaded through?

    I need a micro torch

MAPP became MAP or MAP Pro or something a while back. I don't recall the specifics (I'm sure google knows), but the yellow bottles of gas can be gotten from Home Depot or the like (typically next to the inferior blue bottles). I can get it here in California, which means anybody can get it...

Favorite or Best quality vs. price value 1/4” drive metric and sae socket set

WRIGHT TOOLS! (And Williams) if you want 'murican quality and a bit of old fashioned value. I never heard of them until I was in a bind and had to get an SAE wrench at my favorite hardware store (brick and mortar). USA made and very fairly priced. Wright's wrenches got my attention and since...

    Vintage Craftsman Speed Ratchet

I see those Craftsman speeder ratchets every once in a while. Cool idea made possible by having the room to turn it. I know they're not twelve for 10¢, but I never gave a thought as to how collectible/desirable they are. Snap On makes their interpretation of a "speeder" ratchet - the FRSLF80...

    I need a micro torch

I had to get an adapter (also Uniweld, but I don't know the part #) to fit the 17-15 on my rig. Just keep that in mind if you end up going with the Uniweld mini rosebud.

    I need a micro torch

I was thinking yesterday about how handy a 1/2 size MAP bottle with a scaled down TS8000 would be. I love my TS8000 w/ MAP, but you're right - sometimes she's too big. I have never had any positive experiences with the little butane pocket torches in the past. They always leak and I've...

    I need a micro torch

What will you be using this torch for? When I need a LOT of heat in a specific place, i.e. without heating EVERYTHING around the intended victim, I use a tiny UNIWELD 17-15 Micro Rosebud (Oxygen + Acetylene) UNIWELD ROSEBUD TIPS I have what I believe is the tiniest Oxy/Acetylene setup...

    Can anyone identify this?

Looks like an anchor. Smells like an anchor. Quacks like an anchor. An anchor for what though? Anybody's guess I'd say. A lot of that type & scale of fastener/bolt/hardware is custom made I.e. job specific according to the engineering specs. Those could easily be leftover from a job. OR -...

    A silly question about dykes

This^^^ The asymmetry on your Knipex is pretty subtle. If we are to take Knipex at their word, it's there for "efficiency": What is more common is a pronounced and substantial hook/flare on one side, which offers several advantages to some: Extended and repetitive tool use by individuals...

Hey Socket Manufacturers, Would It Kill You To.......

Personally, I go by the fasteners' smell and match it to the socket. Took me a couple days to get all the sizes dialed in, but I've been 100% for a few years now. Same goes for torque specs. I tighten until I smell the spec.

Snap on kra58 minty - how high will she go?

$870 and climbing! The cork liners (according to THE DESCRIPTION) were put in by the owner (who died). Don't know if those came with cork liners originally As far as shipping for $67, the answer is NO, one can't ship that thing for $67. The seller will just have to eat some of the selling...

Snap on kra58 minty - how high will she go?

If you're like me, ebay is rarely not an open tab in your browser or phone... Recently I found this beauty https://www.ebay.com/itm/Snap-On-9-Drawer-Tool-Chest-Box-Cabinet-Like-New-Unused-Cork-Lined/164816484983 She looks to be as mint as any specemin one could hope to find, and $60 for...
