Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT The Busted Stud and Rusty Nutz Garage

I can deal with missing pre-season, but I may need to work on some way to get the games on in the shop. I am sincerely working on removing non-necessary items from the shop so I can really use it. Using a metal D ring bolted into the foundation, an engine lifting strap and a come along, I did...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT My collection of garages….

I'm not totally sure of your total garage ensemble, but you could always consider the one in the city as your "Display" garage for the finished product storage and showing off. Glad you are taking the time to share your experiences with us. I just did the same myself after waiting about as...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Finally build my, long needed, shop

That is by far the fastest I have ever trenches dug for utilities. Congratulations. Sleeving the water line under the foundation is a great idea too.

That plane is gigantic! Is it a model of the one in your profile pic? That thing must be a blast or terrifying, or possibly both, to fly.

Nice shop, I like the light arrangement it seems to cover everything. That 49 looks very straight, I'm interested to find out what you do with it. Original, Resto-mod, Lifted, Slammed, Full Racing, it's all good with me as long as you are enjoying it and keeping it out of the crusher.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 60' x 60' x 18' Hangar / Shop Build Thread

All that just to water the grass? It looks more like the beginning of a maker build for an electric pipe organ. Have you picked out a suitable controller for your turf quenching pipeapalooza? I keep telling myself I'm going to put in a system, but by August the grass matches the color of the...

Looking good, One nice part of not living on limestone, you actually have dirt to grow grass in. That is a really nice size shop. I never realized how quickly I could fill an empty space. Hope the weather holds out for you for the next couple of weeks, looks good for now.

    Ye Old Garage

I just read from where you took down the garage to get started straight through. It is a great read and really nice to see the way you have continued on making the garage better every year while really getting the kids involved and being involved with them. I took great pleasure in the snow...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT The Busted Stud and Rusty Nutz Garage

As it stands now. I need to: Install and torque the transmission bell housing to engine bolts and attach all the brackets. Install the transfer case, mount and cross member. Install the driveshafts after replacing the rest of the U-joints. Install the starter and rewire it. Flush the cooler...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT The Busted Stud and Rusty Nutz Garage

Today was the day. The day I would finally work on putting the transmission back in the truck. I have run out of excuses and other things to work on instead of doing it. The better half decided to work the weekend helping a neighbor take care of little ones. So I am running solo on a mission...

That kitchen Island looks like with some casters and a vice, it might make a pretty good wood working bench.

Got a little TX hill country two step going... Two steps Forward, and one step back. After some research into the strange coating peeling off the driveshaft splines. I have decided to clean them up and rely on the grease to keep them moving. I heated them up with the Mapp torch and brushed...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT The Busted Stud and Rusty Nutz Garage

Well that is a little embarrassing. I just had to update the thread to move it up in the size sub category. It's not that I built on, it was just that I was trying to figure out why my measurements were off compared to reality. I thought the shop was 20X30X18, but after trying to fit my truck...

Wow, I'm glad no one was hurt. It's just inexcusable for something designed specifically to carry heavy dangerous cargo would be engineered so pathetically. Sounds like your solution will be much more appropriate.

I'm starting to think that if I had done that a little bit more of it, the transmission might not have destroyed itself in the first place.

    Return to Texas

The way I upload images is to click on the icon in the red circle. On my Mac I can drag from the photos app into that "drop Image" box. if you have the files on your computer you can click in the box and it will bring up a file list for you to chose the file to upload. Good luck.

Nice size! The embedded bolts should hold down whatever you put up even with high winds. You will thank yourself for building up above grade next time a gully washer hits and the water is streaming by the shop on it's way down the hill. I built up, but I am lower on a hill and the dirt has...

I did have a few useful hits on "The Googles". The defining one was this... https://patents.google.com/patent/US5903965A/en Anytime you have a patent involved someone is trying to make some money and it is therefore pretty serious business. From what I can tell the epoxy is really a nylon...

    Cheap LED Shop Lighting

Currently I just have one very bright temporary light hanging from a chain powered via an extension cord. It is considerably brighter that the 4 florescent 4ft bulbs I had previously till the heat destroyed the ballast. It is an LED I got from Amazon, They are referred to as UFO lights I...
