Today was an awesome day! One of my good friends had called on Saturday and said he was going to be at his dads shop today and for me to come and meet him there. I made the trip this morning, it's about 2 hours from my place in west Phoenix. He had several things set aside for me and as we were...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Speed Metal Garage - rattle_snake’s 34x40 shop build in AZ

Hey Justin, a suggestion that has helped me. The standpipe for the faucet needs a short length of metal pipe horizontal at the bottom, I like to use at least 6/8 inches. This makes the 90 very strong once you have backfilled. I learned the hard way, I had a vertical piece of 3/4 galvanized pipe...

Hey Todd. Looks like you have lots of good stuff going on. Amazing amount of letter & number stamps. You can move the mill very easily with pipes. I have moved mine 3 or 4 times just using pipes and a bar. You can move the table in or out to help with pry bar leverage. let me know if you need...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Bill’s Marana AZ Shop Project

Welcome to GJ from west Phoenix. Looks like you some challenges to get the layout that will work for you. Have you thought about making the 3rd bay on the house garage large enough to accommodate the RV. That would free up some space in the shop. The Rv will set most of the time, if you have it...

Dang Todd, I always feel good about what I accomplish in the shop till I look at your post. Glad your trip was good even with the sideways driving. Thought I had an entry level mill for you from my neighbor (800), he told me about it, when i got ready to head back thru the fence and was gonna go...

I am getting things moved back in place after painting 2 walls in the shop and have gotten some signs back on the wall. Someone asked about cords, I was able to cut in a box and run wire from another receptacle for the Standard Flame globe.

I think you will be fine with the suburban on the lift, learn about lifting points. get a 8000 or 9000 pound lift to be well on the safe side. The fun stuff will be starting soon, have fun enjoying the progress.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT On the farm: Our new 40 x 30 x 12 metal garage

Looks like a good plan. The struggle is read regarding size, I have things I would do a little different but overall, I love my shop. Size, have you considered going one bay wider? Or build with ability to easily add another bay later. With the vehicles as you have and possibly needing a place...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Mid year clean up and paint project

Just before the windmill project started, I had gone with a friend to look at some used tooling and tools for his used mill he bought, he got only the mill as the previous owner kept everything since he had upgraded to a better mill. While he was picking out the stuff he needed I grabbed the...
