"Whetstones" What do you have ?

From what I've seen from watching videos, you use a coarse or extra course diamond stone to flatten them.

grizzly track saw w/ problems. help please.

I have the Scheppach version of this saw and just ordered new brushes for it from Grizzly on Monday. Mine just died after ripping a piece of 3/4" birch ply on a 45. First time I had used the saw to make anything other than a 90 degree cut. Were the brushes easy to change out?

I was at the Apex Tool Group plant today

Um, that is what an op-ed is. You are more than able enough to read his entire book and double check his sources. Even the Wall Street Journal stated that he provides exhaustive specifics. A reasonable person would conclude that his opinions are supported by his facts. If you read an op-ed...

I was at the Apex Tool Group plant today

So I guess to reply, I'd be embarrass to try to denigrate an author that I don't know the first thing about because he doesn't agree with my myopic view of the world. Don't expect a rational person not to jump all over your ignorance.

I was at the Apex Tool Group plant today

Oh, and if you didn't want to be totally lazy you could have checked out the author Josh Kosman. He is a reporter for the NY Post, or do you think that is liberal too? lol He probably knows more about private equity firms than just about anybody. Here is a review of his book by another not...

I was at the Apex Tool Group plant today

Well there are tons of well documented examples out there if you care to look. Anybody that tries to say corporate owned media has a liberal bias should automatically be ignored, so I'm not sure why I am bothering. Are you denying anything specific in the article are just throwing out...

I was at the Apex Tool Group plant today

Except that is completely untrue and has been well documented. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/why-private-equity-firms-like-bain-really-are-the-worst-of-capitalism-20120523

Craftsman sockets U.S. made vs China made

This is 100% based on your assumption. Do you know that the US made socket prices were raising faster than inflation? Do you have proof that the Chinese sockets haven't increased in price since their introduction? Documentation that consumers whined when Sears sent out some bulletin that they...

Craftsman sockets U.S. made vs China made

Oh trust me, I have never been married to that concept. I've been a business owner. I'm just making that exact same point. I don't want people to buy into the whole, we go to China to give the consumer a better deal, bs. It is why I pay attention to COO of every purchase I make. Of course...

Craftsman sockets U.S. made vs China made

Of course it keeps costs down, the point is that it doesn't get passed along to the consumer. A Chinese made socket should be priced lower that an American made one from the same company. The biggest reason why Craftsman tools were always cheaper and never exploded in price was because Sears...

Craftsman sockets U.S. made vs China made

Thanks. That's the stuff that makes me so mad. You here again and again that we outsource work to keep costs down, and then they turn around and sell those cheaper made good for the same price to American consumers. I am sure this isn't the case across the board, but I see it happen all the time.

Craftsman sockets U.S. made vs China made

Thanks for the comparison. Was there a price difference between the 1 1/8" USA made socket that you found and a Chinese one?

    Western Forge laying off 150+

What is it going to take for the board to dump Eddie? He must be the most clueless CEO out there. Not that he really cares. He'll burn it down to the ground and walk away with a golden parachute while all the workers look for jobs to feed their families.
