    Smart Home devices

Re: Smart Home Automation I decided to add my vacuum to a switch. I typically use the VAC for sucking up dog hair in the house, so instead of having the 1st world problem of going downstairs and into the garage to turn it on/off I can now just do it with this fob or my phone.

    garage alarm

To clarify my previous statement, you could use a automation hub like SmartThings to then setup easy sensors, switches, horns, etc. When the time comes for me to add more to my garage this is how my setup would look. The links are to examples of the "Things" you would need. I would have the...

My vote would be to look into SmartThings or similar home automation system.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? I would have to say it's been a pretty productive morning. First replaced all of my old wheel studs on the Rally car with ARPs and then added a vacuum connection from the closet into the garage along with its own dedicated switch...

    Smart Home devices

My only regret with the SmartThings hub is that they don't have a similar wall controller, or one like the Wink Relay Wall Controller which looks pretty cool. I guess linking it to the Echo would serve a similar purpose however, but with more flexibility and options once you've memorized the...

    Smart Home devices

I really wish I had it setup last year when I fractured a vertebrae and was confined to a recliner for 22 hours of out the day for 2 straight months. My wife gave me lots of **** when I started putting them in until she started enjoying the ability of dimming the lights while already comfy on...

    Smart Home devices

Smart Home Automation I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that has a "Smart Home" such as SmartThings or Wink. What hubs and devices have you guys been enjoying and how have you been tying them together? Bonus credit goes towards how have you incorporated them into the garage theme that this...

Which automotive diagnostic scanner to buy?

I've enjoyed my Android Torque app which uses a Bluetooth ODB2 plug. It's been good for troubleshooting codes and pulling up sensors all from the same device wherever I am.

Split Level Garage/Shop (24x18') - Rally Car and Motorcycles

You had me subscribed at "Rally Car". Loving the FB and YouTube build page, my productivity will be shot for the day. Keep enjoying the good work and build project, don't get frustrated like I have when funds have to go elsewhere as they often do in life. Sorry, but I'm another one of "those"...

    The FURMINATOR

Has anyone tried the Furminator vacuum attachment or any of the other Vacuum brush attachment brands? I have a Dust Right as my 1st vacuum stage with a Dust Deputy as the 2nd stage before going to my actual Shop Vac. So I'm not too worried about the hair clogging it up.

    Buy tools with pot

I live in Colorado and am not a big fan of Marijuana personally, but don't really care if others are. The way I see it it's the same as "cash or beer" which I've done plenty of times for items I don't want around anymore.

    Draining your compressor

I put my little guy on it's own rotary wall timer with an automatic drain, the drain kicks on for 3 seconds (which can be adjusted) everytime I turn on the timer which both the compressor and valve are on. Then every 20 minutes that the timer is still on it bleeds off the air for a additional 3...

    Hello from Sunny Colorado

Seems pretty warm to me, it's been in the high 50s and 60s all week. I even got to clean my back yard yesterday that's been a dog poop ice skating rink since October.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? I'm a big fan of the HF boxes due to the different sized yellow containers, the prices and mostly because when I go to events I can easily load everything up. Only downside is they don't sell the bins separately so I have...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Started putting the pieces together of a rare and long since used Supercharger I bought for the Rally car last Fall. Still not sure if I'll ever even use it due to how little information there is on it and how worn out my 240k mile...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Added a hose off of my air compressor's auto drain that runs outside to cut down on noise. There's also a 1/8" barb fitting just in case the hose gets clogged so the air still has a place to go. I think I might redo...

    Enough Light for 20' x 20' Garage ?

I'm sure your design will be a decent start. How were you planning on powering them? Would there be a option for increasing if needed? You might also consider looking up the max Wattage your openers will handle and potentially add each "side" of lights to the opener as I did. It's been really...
