    I just got the fitting today and it measures 43/64 OD. The opening on the fitting is 33/64 the 3/8 NPT must be something else. The other end of this fitting from ebay will accomodate the 1/2” copper. Would NAPA be a place to take this to to figure out tap amd die?

    the assortment of o rings i have dont fit. Even with silicone grease. Too fat. It is weird. Still looking.

    The only thing that is suspect is the tank, (that is enough to freak me out). It doesn't have a drain but does have a safety valve. So the tank looks good but i may just replace that tank with one with a purge valve for water and similar capacity. The other thing I was thinking once I figure out...

    I was hoping someone had this same unit and could tell me. i really do not know what held the copper in place…there was a mangled o-ring inside. The parts diagram shows what looks like an o-ring but i don’t know.

    Yes, right there. That inner recess is where an o-ring sits and that is enough to hole the copper…amazing.

    I used a caliper to measure that inner diameter of that fitting

    Will this. ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/132349331490 ) fit on this 33/64” fitting?

    I was able to measure the business end of this fitting and it is 33/64”. It would be lovely to tap this for a compression fitting citation‘s link above….. but CH used an ”O” ring for the connection it appears. Seems leaky…..

    Ah, this finally sunk in! Tap the head so something like this would fit it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/132349331490 Brilliant. I will have to break out the calipers.

    Ye, i was thinking about this all day. Friction fit hold 120 psi…what a headache. A standard parts solution would be a more conventional fix. Now i need to see what would work.
