Progress is slow, but steady. I have the Jeep panels off that I am replacing/repainting. I got the gas tank down and found a decent skid plate that I will clean and paint with chassis saver. I got the skid plate off, but broke/stripped 3 bolts in the process. The Jeep had a Ranch 2 1/2”...

Thanks. It was hiding some rot, but I have a line on a set of fenders and I’m pulling stuff off and out to clean and paint frame, axles and line the interior.

Added to the fleet! 1995 YJ. A late model 95 too. It is in pretty good shape and the frame is terrific. Have to replace the passenger front fender only. The rest is mostly cleanup. Plan to make this mostly stock for Jeep show type events.

We had hardie board installed last summer: Board&batten, lap and cedar shake panels on the dormers. We like the trim and did not consider butting the edges.

We moved December of 21. My only suggestion is to pack with a plan and label every box with not only contents, but destination room at the new house. This way you only need someone to direct the movers to the room based on the box labels. After a while, they learn the rooms and become self...

At our new house I have one area that serves both purposes. I get the distinction though. I'm fortunate in that I have a 'basement garage' at this place too, so while the 'Jeep garage' parks daily drivers it is slanted towards 'shop'.

I did something similar last December ('21). It was not nearly as drastic of a down-size as you did, but it was still something I felt and had to plan for. I got by with lots of shelves up high on the wall and had to start parking my truck outside. I've made adjustments and it works for me...

Thanks! They are serious ball joints, and I have over built my front axle for how I wheel, but I prefer this to how I operated my 1991 YJ, it was way underbuilt for how I used it and I broke more than one axle component on that Jeep back in the day. ah, the folly of youth, lol!

Back together and on the road…

New Dynatrac ball joints in the Jeep. It only took 10,000 miles and 5 wheeling trips with 35s to kill the oem ball joints. These are super beefy and rebuildable.

I doubt I’ll ever take this wheeling. I use a high lift base with the factory jack. That combo works well. This is more for garage use and in my gravel drive. My 25 yo craftsman jack has seen better days. The axles are solid pins with threads cut on the ends. The nuts are 3/4”. Seems...
