    Work in progress...

Thanks! Yeah it's to hopefully slow them down while the inferred sensor on my alarm will go off and the cops will hopefully show up. I was robbed 2 years ago and know that there is now way to keep somebody from getting something if they really want it so it's just to give them something to do. :)

RUST ALERT!!! What's your all purpose shop oil/grease?

I use Kroil and/or CLP depending on the situation - I'm a gun guy tho and thats the only oil I have. If I need teflon then I use Triflow.

    Wind Turbine Tech

I'll tell you right now most wind turbines that are up now will have a hard time making more power than went into them, including steel, electronics, shipping, building and maintaining, etc. I work with some mitsubishi guys they use to like the job but now they have a hand scanner to clock in...

    Wind Turbine Tech

I've been to Sweetwater area many times. You will enjoy it, just learn at home about electronics, plc's, and just electricity and hydraulics in general. Do you have a company in mind?

    Wind Turbine Tech

I've been doing it for 4.5 years, I didnt go to school for it either. I use to travel and make over 6figures but the traveling isn't worth it if you have a family, I'll stick with 80grand and minimal travel. I can say however that everyone that comes out of "wind turbine school" I dont like...

    work benches... from scratch

My intension isnt to fool or stop anyone, but slow them down. I have an infered sensor for our NEW house alarm system that is pointed at the bench, so hopefully it will keep them occupied until the cops show up. I lost 15,000$ worth of tools, reloading supplies, couple guns (lucky the expensive...

    Kill-A-Watt

I think the one I linked too was $45. 20 is for the single receptical version. Also it has a emf filter which is good for high end devices, even tho its probably just a ferrite ring, but better than nothing. I have all flourecent lights in my house so I actually have a rack mounted power...

    Kill-A-Watt

Not really novelty at all actually. Maybe because I'm an electronics/electrician nerd, but I think it makes you realize how much power you really use, you can try out ur old fridge and then your new fridge, etc. Once you have one you will always wonder, hmmm how much power does this or that use...

    Wire splice question

As an electrian ill tell you to twist the same size solid wires together with linemans pliers then put on the correct size wire nuts. Your wires should look like the stripes of a candy cane all along the wires until you cant twist anymore when putting on wire nuts. Now when it comes to your...

How to test a 24V dc motor?

We have the same type of motors in wind turbines. I would just ohm the windings. Ive hooked them up in the shop before but cant remember if u need the field (s1 s2) to be backwards to a1 & 2. I probably did it wrong the first time and it didnt hurt anything. So you can try a1 & s1 together on...
