This is how you install an outdoor 110 outlet 400 feet away

Answer:______________________________________. Can someone fill in the blank here? I have a 200A panel and want to bury the wire. Will a 12 ga wire run that far? I don't plan to pull more than a couple amps continuously.

Cant get restored car into my Garage! :(

I heard an old saying once that said, "Don't race any car you're not willing to push off a cliff." That being said, the first off track excursion may solve your issue. I'm not hating on you. I have a track car too and I think that thing will give you loads of fun from the looks of it's build...

    security options

As already said... if someone wants in, they will get in. But once they do, have everything locked up to the best of your ability. Crazy how many people have things with unlocked locks. Get creative inside. Time is a scarce quantity when you're wanting to move fast and steal something. If...

    Can you identify this vice?

When someone doesn't care to put their name on it, it usually says a lot. Thanks for the help!

    Can you identify this vice?

I got this vice a few years back. (First pic) Very heavy. 75 lbs. to be exact. It was painted over with an old lead paint and I see no markings on it at all indicating anything. The other day I ran across an old eBay posting that appears to be the exact same vice. But it was not the star of the...

Is this too good to be true?

http://williamsport.craigslist.org/tls/5312297726.html I'll never know. It was available for 8 days and I missed it by like a few hours. :(

What is this oddity in basement

I went on a walk-through in this house right about the time the old owners were moving out. We heard some rumblings in the basement. I took a quick look and saw these two fellas working. They appeared to be some sort of ultra-clean movers or something. We left almost immediately once my wife saw...

    Uh oh .....

I have not bought anything from Grizzly. Are they known to be decent tools? Or is it better to look for the older stuff?

    Developing Raw Land. Q&A

I tend to lean this way too. I like to think that the premium properties have been scoped out and developed way before I began looking. Having the utilities there already is a plus, even if you have to bulldoze a shack that's sitting there. Just because the home is a **** hole, doesn't make the...

    Garage fire

Why is the city going to make you move it now? Isn't your garage already on the plat? If so, I don't see how they can justify it. Unless you tore it down completely already. I thought existing structures, even remodeled/refurbished ones, grandfather new zoning. I've seen instances where only one...

    Taller Pole Barn Addition

I have a 30x50 that is 10' tall. One end has a 15' wide area that will fit my future lift. Can't you just add on that way? (Of course that limits your max. door height though. My doors are only 8' tall.)

Where should I put the building? Survey inside

That is indeed true IF you've already bought the property. If you have not, still do the research. There's not been any bad advice so far that I've read above. When I bought my place, I too was thinking all about my future garage's placement as you're doing. Don't get too far ahead of yourself...

How far is your walk? aka distance shop to house

That's what I hate! Probably the worst part about having my shop about 450' from my house. I want a golf cart, but my wife thinks I'm just being lazy. Other than the walk, I love where I put it! No prying eyes or noise complaints.

60x100x18 - Pole Barn Shop and House

Re: 60x100x18 - My dream coming true in the PNW. 60x100?! Wow! You can fit four of my 30x50 in there! I look forward to see the work in progress.

    Christian's 36x50

Oh yes you will for my approval. ;) That long fence 12' away makes complete sense. Good point. That's what you'll see. Even if the house was 13' away. Great shop you're building!

    Christian's 36x50

I know the feeling. I felt the same about mine when it was going up. I pulled my truck into the marked area and was like, "sum *****!" But then once it's up and under roof the anxiety eases. :) Hate to sound too picky... but why did you opt to line your shop up with the property line instead of...

    Morton Buildings can't be serious

I went with Morton ultimately for their warranty. 50 years with no snow load limit or wind load limit is a big deal. And 25 years on the paint is crazy too. They were so easy to deal with. As Scott said above, "You get what you pay for". Here's what they did for me. :)

    Pay attention guys!!!

I never even considered checking my bulk bought filters before installing them. Great post! Thanks! My opinion on these little p's.o.s. are the Chinese sent them over to us in the U.S. to find the solution on how to get rid of them. They gave up! :headscrat :dunno:

1 Day. Multiple Projects. Help Me Decide

I voted for 4 because, I'd be glad I did so each time I arrived home knowing the outside is done and ready for Winter. If time permits after, start on the extra storage in the garage! You've got the next months to tackle all the inside projects! :)
