MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

For those that have done the installs on the MrCool DIY, how far behind the inside wall unit does the lineset extend before becoming flexible? Basically, is there a small run that's not flexible? I'm asking because I'm wanting to run my lineset in the shop along the interior wall for a few...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

Well, I'm not too worried about having too much, as I'm sure I'll be running it in dry mode when it gets cool enough. I did order the 36K unit. I'm retired military, and Lowe's gives a 10% off discount, but even with that, Ingram's beat them by over $100 for the unit. I'm wall mounting the...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

NE Florida, so we see high 90's all the time in the summer, with 95+ % humidity I work nuclear plant outages in the spring and fall (when the weather is mild, of course), which keeps me home summer and winter. When I'm home, I'm usually not working, so I'll be out there quite a bit. I'd like...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

You're reading my mind, I do believe. I feel I knew the answer, but was trying to get by a little cheaper, which seems to never turn out well. Thanks for the compliment about the shop. It's been a dream of mine for about 20 years. I made a deal with the devil to get it, as I had to move my...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

So, after reading all of the responses, I've decided to go for it. I am just not quite sure of the sizing due to my specs. I have a galvanized metal building, 30'x60'x12', and have closed cell spray foam insulation on all walls and the ceiling. Both garage doors are fully insulated (R-19), as...

    Multiple Ceiling Fan Speed Controller

I have no knowledge of the industrial fans, and their workings. I can say that the speed control I linked to is for ceiling fans. The power ratings are there, so.... ? If anyone has one they've used, please feel free to share.

    Multiple Ceiling Fan Speed Controller

I had the recommended local electricians wire up my shop while I was away for work, including 3 Westinghouse Industrial 56" Ceiling fans (#7861400), with the GW5S-U (5 speed) controller. However, they failed to read the directions which stated that they the controller must control only one fan...

    Ceiling fan control switch

Did you ever find an answer to your question? I'm looking at the same thing, but want to control 3 fans with one. I have a few of the 5 speed switches myself (Westinghouse GW5S-U), which is their industrial fan controllers that they've sold for years) and would like to have one controlling...

    Mini Split Specific Requirement Recommendations

Thanks for all the responses. I am not dedicated to a multi zone unit, as I don't mind separate compressors. I do like that one line going down won't kill the entire system if I put in 2 different units. The shop size will be 1500 sq ft and the man cave will be 300 sq ft, so considering a 2K...

Cost of Spray in Foam Insulation

I have a 30x60x12 Carolina Carports metal building, and had 4 quotes (in the Jacksonville, FL area), and went to sites for all 4 of the companies doing the work. I went with the guy that had the most experience, had the best feedback ratings, and I felt comfortable with, and he was doing a 20%...

    Mini Split Specific Requirement Recommendations

Ok, still a newbie to this site, but not to forums, and I know to search before starting a new thread. To this end, I can say that I have searched and read a ton about these things, and can't seem to find the answers I'm after, so please don't berate me. I live just outside of Jacksonville...

Shop air- what type of valves and fittings?

I am definitely going with the Rapid Air. I've got a 30x60 shop, and according to their website, the length I'd need to run requires the 3/4" (compressor and dryer will be on one end) kit, but I like overkill rather than worrying about having enough. I've read a ton of review on it, and seems...

Inside finishing of a galvanized building - Need to find measurements

I'm just at the point that the slab of my 30x60x12 shop (one of the galvanized vertical types from Carolina Carports) will be poured next week. I'm going to have to set the drains for the toilet, shower, and sinks in the concrete myself, and have most of the needed measurements, etc.. but I'd...

The all inclusive PhotoBucket issues, problems and solutions

Re: Attention GJers-Check your Photobucket accounts Well, At least it's a little better. Photobucket must have realized the issue, and has now reduced their prices down to $99 a year. I think they did this purposefully. Got us upset at the $400/year price, flooded it with so many pop-up...

    Power Requirements

Thanks for all of the support. I'll get the load calc done, and see what "spare" I have to go with. I'd like to stick to dedicated service, and will get a few estimates (and speak with the local electric company about minimum monthly charges while I travel for work) to see what the best route is.

    Power Requirements

That's from the motor nameplate. Tank quotes it as 3.6. The wire run would be about 100 feet, including all bends.
